Rogue One and TFA were cool

This was not. At all.

God damn I wanted to like it. But these people aren't lying folks. It's bad.

I seriously question every person who says this movie is down right awful

I question anyone who says this is worthy of a 95% on RT, which is where it was when I saw it. I thought something was horribly wrong.

Rogue One was cool, I liked it except for Forest Whitaker's character, the blind side kick, and his Gun dude friend. I'm not sure why they need to have gimmicky characters. But aside from some over the top scenes(blind dude chanting force crap with 100 people shooting at him)....the overall story line gave us a GREAT historical record of the Star Wars line "Many Bothans died to bring us this information." (even though we saw no Bothans)

I had issue with the gimmicks, which dropped my score of Rogue One, but I suggested it and even saw it twice in the theaters.(not normal for me)


TFA- Loved the beginning (stopped blaster...DAMN!) I even liked Rey's character. I was completely okay with Snoke and even okay with Kylo being a dumb brat, able to contain himself behind a mask, but without it he was just a weak character.

Things I HATED about TFA(off the top of my head):

1. Overuse CGI-newb pilots flying old arse falcon for the 1st time, and doing flips, splits, tight fits, and all the other "close call' garbage.

2. Monsters on Han's ships eating the gangs (dumb waste of time)

3. But biggest gripe is that I cannot suspend my belief that there is a way someone who has NEVER used the force could best someone who's trained for ~20 years.

Even with that I've seen the film a few times, and considered it decent....and have raised my opinion of it recently after seeing how bad "bad" can actually be.

TFA, Finn nis a useless character put there as a token. I will wait until it comes out on DVD. Lot cheaper that way, especially since I hAve a decent home theater set up. Don't have to worry about being shOT at either.

It's not downright awful. I liked a few things in this film. There was some serious chemistry between Ren and Rey. The actors did a wonderful job with the scenes they were given. It's very obvious to me that the two characters are attracted to each other in a twisted way. Theirs is an interesting dynamic and both actors play their parts EXTREMELY well.

The visuals were also solid for the most part, though I did find the CGI rendering of those creatures on the casino planet to be pretty sub-par compared to what we saw in The Force Awakens and Rogue One.

What really killed this movie for me was the characterization of Luke, the ultimate fate of his character, and some of the decisions made by Resistance leaders in regards to how they planned to get out of the situation they found themselves in. I also didn't like how they dispatched the primary antagonist with no explanation as to where he came from, what his motivations were, or how the hell he even came to know the Solos/Skywalkers.

Rian Johnson’s European arse should be flayed for what he did to Luke.
