Rolling Stone is a political magazine with shitty taste in music.

Always has been. Their writers would berate Led Zeppelin and then lecture readers that they should be listening to Important bands like Country Joe and the Fish.

These execs and show runners are completely obsessed with subverting the traditional good/evil mechanisms of the OT. The problem is they aren't skilled enough to do it particularly well, and they destroy the mythos in the process (because they don't know/care about it).

Subversion and ignoring fit within the universe are the recurring themes in why these attempts continue to fail. The ones who are at least adequate in one and solid in the other do well.
I said something akin to this after TLJ

They lost all good will after TLJ. Just slapping Star Wars on something doesn’t guarantee viewership anymore. People take a wait and see approach now.

The Andor apathy, and the only occasional, begrudging acknowledgement that it's good, suggests this fanbase is more interested than bitching about things than it is a show that "doesn't suck."

Andor had the unenviable task of having to follow up The Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi, two shows that were absolute stinkers. The few ads I did see for Andor made it look intriguing, but I was hesitant to watch it after just having been tricked into the bait-and-switch that turned into the young princess leia comedy hour.

And as someone else mentioned, Andor's audience grew as the season went along due to being a quality show. I would imagine it would have been a much larger success had it directly followed up Mando season 2 instead of getting released after two dumpster fires.

I just want good stories that don’t undermine other parts of Star Wars and aren’t being used to push an agenda. I don’t really care whether a character is male or female, black or white, etc. as long as they have a good story.

A good rule of thumb is to never click on a Rolling Stone link. They were the print version of click-bait before the public discovered the internet.

Always wanted to see a Lando movie/TV show that tells the story of how he rose in Cloud City. Thought that could’ve been a great SW story but Disney is so racist they didn’t think the character could stand on his own so they stuck him in that awful Solo movie instead.

I would argue that it is a two-fold issue.

1: Disney does not have confidence in a black man leading a show. This follows a long standing issue in Hollywood where blacks were not viewed as possible leading men despite multiple examples pointing to the opposite.

2: Disney is worried fans will lash out over a black man being cast as a lead. This is stupid because Lando is one of the most important side characters in Star Wars and several prominent black actors have expressed interest in the role.

Both are funny because it shows how racist Disney can be in the fact that they have zero problem shoving a female character down our throats, including black females; yet are unwilling to do the same for a black man.

That or Disney and more importantly Kathleen Kennedy is terrible at her job and couldn't make the right call if you have her a 50/50 chance. I am leaning more toward the executive producer not being the right choice to lead a 4 billion dollar brand empire.

The time to make the Lando show or movie was when Glover took a break from music. Now that he is back touring as Childish Gambino it will probably never be made. I think his schedule is a big reason the Community movie hasn’t been made yet either.

I mean after I’ve seen the quality of Disney Star Wars I don’t want it to happen anymore but when the news of them purchasing Lucasfilm first came out and I thought it was a good thing I wanted to see this. A gambler navigating the underworld and eventually the politics that leads to him to the position we find him to start Empire Strikes back would’ve been great to see but now I just don’t think Disney employs the talent to produce something like this with any quality.

This is such a stupid article, make it good and people will like it. Mando by itself shows people will like it or dislike it based on the quality of the season.

Mando is a very good example, started off strong then turned into a joke. What’s worse is everybody pretty much loves Katee Sackhoff but her character’s story is exactly why everyone hates Disney Star Wars.
