Not at all. You won't see Doom's face because of his disfigurement. RDJ doesn't have to worry about his vanity of getting "Face Time" like most actors covet. Hugo Weaving nailed it in "V For Vendetta" and we never saw his face. I dare say the majority of the Doom we will be watching is his voice behind the mask and RDJ does a fantastic job of changing his voice. Hopefully they'll do the over the top Doom lexicon with a lot of his monologuing as only Doom can do.

You have too much faith if you think Marvel won’t be itching to get RDJs face on screen as much as possible
I bet they do a ton of flashbacks to keep him on screen, then when he ultimately dies, he’ll die mask off. That face brings in the cash. His voice is recognizable, but I think only if it’s in the context of Tony stark. I highly doubt this is going to be a voice only role for him

If they didn't plan show his face a lot and only use voice then Javier Bardem would have been the pick. You act as if Disney will follow the comics.

the RDJ piece of it is one issue, but you also have Dr Doom once again not really getting his full backstory and care you’d want for your next big bad after an already spotty film history for that character

Even with flashbacks you won't necessarily see the Tony Stark look. He'll change his hair, shave the Van Dyke Beard and it will be fine.
When Chris Evans was cast as Captain America people weren't quite sold on The Human Torch being Cap but it worked out fine.
Also, it will give Deadpool something to poke fun at like when he was expecting Chris Evans to yell "Avengers Assemble" but got "Flame On"

Yea I think it would be best if RDJ is an entirely new character with zero relation to Stark.
Perhaps they can do a single throwaway line saying he looks similar to Stark, but then that's it.

They won’t be able to resist the urge to make 10 Easter egg Tony stark quotes / references with that. My point is they will sacrifice the Dr Doom character in the name of bringing RDJs face on screen.

Insanely silly comparison

You say this like this is a good thing. You’re rooting for the MCU to become a family guy episode

It’s the only way it will work. Have a feeling RDJ’s Doom will be from the F4 timeline but die in the Avengers movies and they’ll recast Doom for the 616 version of Doom.
But yeah he just shouldn’t show his face

Why? It would be a neat callback for a second until Doom blasts Spider-Man out of the zip code with some green lasers and magic
If they can’t get a permanent deal with Sony, this is how they could off Peter Parker.

I’m sorry but you don’t pay a crap ton of money, alienate a portion of the fanbase, and risk ruining your biggest character’s legacy to bring in RDJ and not show his face. I’d wager his face will even be on the poster too.

Some of y’all have the IQ of potato lol.
RDJ is playing Victor Von Doom, not a Tony Stark variant. Will he have some similarities to Tony? Sure. Both characters are very intelligent and have strong personalities.
He’ll first appear in Fantastic Four: First Steps which takes place in the 1960s in an alternate reality.
As it’s been pointed out, numerous actors have played multiple superhero/villain characters in their career.

What villain will Scar Jo play
Original Secret Wars villains?
The Enchantress. She could steal the memory of Black Widow and bewitch Thor, Cap, Hulk...

I must’ve missed where Christian Bale played Joker in his own trilogy
Playing different characters in other studios’ films is one thing. Playing the protagonist of a multi-film arc and also playing the antagonist in the same universe is just stupid

Which isn’t what is happening.
But why are y’all melting down about this? I thought all y’all said that Disney has lost you anyways?

At what point do we get the X-Men reboot and will they factor into any of these already announced movies?

this shite is definitely not going to work....the avengers went as far as it could up to end game and the arc ended the way it was supposed to. its over....disney is going to turn the franchise into larry holmes lookin flabby and sick, just let it go.
other obvious reasons why it wont work:
1) nobody cares about Fantastic Four. they have been trying to force that crew onto fans for decades and it never takes off. they are just not that interesting.
2) nobody cares about sam ....he is not captain america but a cheap DEI knock off
3) ^ same for female black panther. just a dumb character
4) RDJ cast as Doom reeks of desperation. it makes zero sense as all fans identify him as Iron Man. i guess they'll justify it by crossing over universes and have a plot where Doom finds out about the other universe and 'pretends' to be Stark resurrected from the dead somehow to deceive the avengers or whatever.
its just a mess. disney's inability to get creative and come up with something original is on full display here.

These movies were not related. These movies will be DIRECTLY related. Not sure how to do it without Iron Man variant.
