Yes, watch them in order. The plots sometimes carry over.

Looking to get started on this series. Always thought it looked kind of strange and out there but some friends have been hounding me for years about starting it.
Should I start in Season 1? Or are there certain episodes in other seasons that I should watch that will get me hooked faster?
Start at the beginning and always watch for an end credits scene.

One of the best postcredit scenes so far.
Loved how this episode kind of played on the inter dimensional cable/sentinel of ricks theme they have built up while making it fresh.
The 4th wall, self referential stuff lands too; definitely becoming more and more of a postmodern show than it already was.
Maybe my low key favorite part was identifying all the different weaponry the various versions of the family used. Star wars, Halo, and Summer has a nice Saving Private Ryan moment before Morty had a callback to the purge episode when he tosses Rick a spoon to defend himself

Yea just start from s1. Continuity isn’t super important but it’s the way god intended.

To this point, too, episode 1 isn’t bad per se but if you give it a few episodes you’ll quickly see what the fuss is about. There are some good not great episodes but then there are others that make you want to rewatch as soon as you’re done
Episodes 2 and 3 in particular are some of the best in the entire shows run

I’m willing to bet save for the end of Episode 2 that we haven’t seen Rick C-317 this season.
So you think the "last Rick standing" was actually our Rick?

We need to go on a quick adventure. Let's go. In and out. 42 episode adventure.

I’m guessing Rick C-317 made some decoys before leaving and then that decoy made a decoy family and so on and so forth until they all killed themselves and then our Rick returned.

"Like Westworld"
"yes Morty, like Westworld, but don't frick them"
and then the Ex Machina line

The wooden decoys speech reminded me of the Matrix speech before the sentinels arrived. And the alien decoys looked a lot like the sentinels.
Still cracking up over those muppet ones too when they pan back from the house and they’re questioning if they’re the decoys before the reveal. So good.

i think you may be right... Rick hasnt drank at all the first two episodes (not even the aged wine) and you havent seen the drool around his mouth or even burped. it's either Rick has gone cold turkey or this isnt C-17

Was the Rick at the end drooling? I can't remember.

Damn I loved that episode. So many doors opened with the decoy family bit.
And lmfao at Jerry. Of course he’d be cursed with immortality after his line about wanting to survive.

I am legitimately concerned though that we have no idea what family we are watching week in and week out. The real Smiths? Decoy Smiths?
This is now like the 15th storyline that could lead you to believe we are not following the same ones or that the my are still alive.
I don’t think it even matters lol

Indeed.
As an aside, I hate calling them the Smiths. frick Jerry, he doesn't deserve that.
They are the Sanchezs+1

From the Citadel of Ricks episodes, I do love this line from Garment District Rick:
quote:
We were saying “President Morty” that we don’t care who sits in that seat. A Rick, a Morty, a god damn Jerry, doesn’t matter.

Doubtful. I think the plan is like 100 episodes total that have been totally greenlit and ending it there. They’ll get back to it but need to make the build up worth it.
