Surprised Morty didn’t try to zap her with the mind wiper.

I thought it was a good Rick and Morty episode and great way to start the new season. The Morty/Jessica Storyline with the Narnia door was pretty solid imo.
Forgot what it was like to watch a new season week by week, so when the credits ended and it didn't flip to episode 2 I got real sad.

Mr. Nimbus hip thrusting magic.
Morty really just wiped out the goat people for some Jessica luvin, only to have her become a Time God.

Meh, the goat people picked that fight. All Morty wanted was to peacefully take the wine. I'm sure if they would have been like, "no baw, you ain't taking our goat wine" Morty would have cowered back and went home, but instead they went straight aggressive and forced his hand. Morty is at a point in his life that he's done taking shite from goat people. It was a case of "frick around and find out".
The goat people found out. They could have peacefully made a bottle or two wine donation every couple of generations and been hunky dory. That's not much to ask.

Taking the wine isn't what caused all the issues.

Correct. Morty letting him come in to his world caused the issues

Notice where Morty is here?

Alright, I just watched the rerun and I recant my harsh words. That episode was solid.
I think I figured out what happened during the premiere. My college age daughter was home, and insisted on watching the premiere with me. I think I was watching it with Dad eyes with her sitting there and was too embarrassed to enjoy it
Forgive me.

I get it. I watched it again last night with my wife there and just didn't feel normal during the Mr. Nimbus hip thrust scenes. She doesn't get the humor at all and just stares at me with disgust.

SO just walked through the living room to get coffee while I was in a Zoom case management meeting, stopped, thrusted, and yelled "FLEE".
I laughed a little too hard.

It’s irrationally hilarious to me that Mr. Nimbus, the king of the ocean, inexplicably controls the police and seemingly with pelvic thrusts
The B plot with Morty, Jessica, and the Narnia dimension was stellar and really shows Morty’s change through the seasons into the sort of Rick-lite he is now. Really curious to see if it leads to some character development for Jessica which would be a welcome change.

Not sure I'd call him that quite yet. He makes just stupid frickup mistakes that Rick would never do, like leaving the glove behind for survivors to find and reverse engineer. He's the same Morty he has always been, but he's growing a spine and some sense of confidence.

Which would lead to basically becoming Rick 2.0 eventually the more detached you get from the consequences of life and death in this whole infinite universe thing
