If you are looking for movies or a series that you may not have heard about, the following are pretty good:

The Final Cut (2004) with Robin Williams.

Deceived (1991) with Goldie Hawn.

Another Version of You (2019) Indie film about parallel universes.

A series that was superb is the Lost Room (2006) with Peter Krause.

Anybody have any other recommendations?

Not sure how obscure it is on here, but Lucky Number Slevin is one of my faves. Most of the ppl I know don’t know about it, but I think it is great.

Killer Joe (2011) is one of the best thriller/dark comedy of the 2010s. McConaughey gives a sinister performance.

Robin Williams is awfully unnerving in “One Hour Photo.” It’s creepy as hell, but didn’t get much buzz.

I thought The Belko Experiment was pretty solid and I’ve never really heard anyone talk about it.

Ravenous

Fantastic movie. Cool soundtrack. Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle. Unique. Creepy. Fun. Weird.

I'll throw that one in as well. Great little premise on submarines. Another of those great jump scare moments.

Gut Pearce always kind of brings the goods.

The Proposition is really as good as any modern western I've seen in the last 25 years, but it's set in Australia, so it's a little different. Really worth seeking out.

Also he played "Snake Plissken" in Lockout, which is pretty much a blatant ripoff of John Carpenter's proposed "Escape from Space." I liked it better than Escape from LA, and Guy Pearce is good as usual.
