I just think that in the past many people have gone to see Adam Sandler films just with the fond memories of Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, the Wedding Singer, etc., not because of the film itself.

Who will save the moviegoers?!!!

You can't be "conned" into seeing MANY films by one guy who has such a distinct and predictable style. Lots of people would rather watch Sandler than the hipster comedy of the day. That's just the way it is.

Here's my question. If you had 5 minutes to talk to Sandler face-to-face, what would you tell him? I'm not saying you're not tough enough to say things to his face, I'm saying wouldn't you feel like an arse standing in front of Sandler and bitching about the way he entertains people?

Still, Smith hasn't been in much over the past few years. He's content with either guaranteed huge blockbusters or good films in general. He has enough dignity to not make anything within the ballpark of Grown Ups for instance.

Because he never has. Sandler has always made movies about jibberish and toilet humor. He still is, he's just tailoring them more for families and kids now. Instead of him being hammered, drooling over the new edition of Drunk Chicks, and fighting penguins, he's a dad with kids who want to get chocolate wasted.

Why do you think that? You really think people are going to see J&J because they liked Billy Madison? I don't believe that you really believe that.

Well, his credibility took a hit with me when he openly admits several times that he's never seen a single Sandler film besides Jack and Jill. Sandler's humor is the same now as it used to be, more or less...it's just a little more mature (used loosely) and toned down because now he's making movies for families and kids instead of college kids.

Are you high? If you like sandier films then fine, whatever, but sandier is definitely not "mature" or toned down. He just knows he can fast track these shitty films with no effort or care and he and his goons will reap about 2/3 of the budget. This has been going on for about 8 or 9 years.

bullshite. In Happy Gilmore, he was shouting curse words at a golf ball and calling Bob Barker a bitch. Nowadays, it's jokes like peeing in the pool and getting chocolate wasted. It's definitely toned down, even though it's the same "type" of humor.

bullshite again.

2002 - Mr. Deeds
2003 - Anger Management
2004 - 50 First Dates
2005 - Longest Yard
2006 - Click
2007 - Chuck and Larry
2008 - Zohan
2008 - Bedtime Stories
2010 - Grown Ups
2011 - Just Go With It

Not many of those reek of the same scent as Jack and Jill. Maybe Grown Ups and Zohan. The rest are semi-legit movies, if not better (or at least come off as legit efforts as opposed to just cashing in on some bullshite plot that sounds like it was thrown together by South Park).

So anger management does not fall into that category? Just go back and watch it and actually tell someone you know about this film without them laughing at you.

In fact that entire list just reeks of the same shite, and that stupid baseball nerd movie? Same shite there...sandier may not be in it, but it's a sandier film. Click, zohan? How can anyone watch that stupid shite?

Gilmore/Madison

Waterboy (but this was really the beginning of the end)

And everything after was crap

Question, how did you guys watch almost an hour of that drivel? And, how did you manage to talk about it for 6 pages?

I tried, I really tired, but at about the 16 minute mark I had to cut it off. Does it get any better? Honestly, I think I would enjoy watching Jack and Jill more.

Lastly, I'm not defending this movie, it looks terrible. But, how did the goober on the left get to break it down? He admitted he has never seen a Sandler movie, and he created a list based off of expectations from the trailer. I think I could go on for an hour about how making assumptions about a movie based on the trailer is a bad idea.

I've never seen Anger Management, but it has legit actors/actresses in it as opposed to Sandler's buddies.

No, it doesn't. Some of those movies are decent. And I'll venture that Click was pretty good. Definitely not in the same "I'm not trying" vein as Jack and Jill seems to be in. Not even close. I'll give you Grown Ups or Zohan though.

You clearly don't like Sandler movies, and that's fine. But to keep categorizing them all as the same is stupid because they're not. You not liking them doesn't = "Sandler's mailing it in." Doing movies in his wheelhouse isn't mailing it in. Jack and Jill seems to be, based on the trailers and the description in the review at the beginning of this thread. I'm smart enough to see the trailers for J&J and realize that it's not a movie that I want to see. So I won't. It's simple really. But why should I care that he made the movie, regardless of if ya'll think he "tried" or not? I dunno, just doesn't make sense to me I guess...like OML and his "conman" shite.

Yea, I suppose never seeing one of the guys movies should be a top qualification for ripping his career. Maybe, he should review having sex with an actual live girl next because it doesn't look like he has any experience with that either.

FWIW, I thought it was pretty funny every time the dude on the left talked about something he thought he'd see and did the Sandler girl voice. That was good shite.

Sandler...don't know why it keeps saying sandier...

Anyway, I like the first 3 and it's nothing against the guy but his films just suck. And it is a universal truth that click is a bad bad movie, that's not even an opinion. I noticed this trend in 05/06 but it goes back to 03

And plinkett has cred, he is spot on with his commentary

No it's more like havig sex with an extremely obese fat chick. You obviously don't want to try it, and when you finally do you confirm your suspicions that chubbies are fricking terrible.

I don't like what you're saying so I will call you a virgin. BTW, this is alot of butthurt about a guy who knows alot about films talking shite about a universally panned movie. Moreover, he is spot on with his commentary.

It's ok if you don't like what he has to say or don't agree with it, but to dismiss him as not being credible because you feel insecure about liking adam sandler films (there is nothing wrong with liking Adam sandler movies)is really dumb
