I thought about including them in a chronological Star Trek rewatch that I’m doing. Yeah, DS9 is legit.

The Expanse
Battlestar Galactica (the shitty ending and Lost style unanswered questions trope keeps it out of the top spot)

Those are 2 of my favorites so I’m biased.

The writer’s strike and their decision to bring Starbuck back without much of a plan really did hurt them down the stretch.
Also, if you go back and look at some of the original criticism of the show, you run into the same shite that’s going on today: complaints about the gender swap of Starbuck and Bush Derangement Syndrome.
Maybe the show was right all along. “All of this has happened before.”

I tried watching all of them and Farscape was the only one I liked.

Expanse started strong, but those last seasons were a chore.

I’ve never seen it. Is it serialized? I know it’s a good show, just haven’t got around yet to watching it.

B5
BSG
Stargate (SG1 only)
Expanse
Farscape
SG Atlantis was ok. That SG with the rape stones and Lou Diamond Phillips was terrible.

Farscape, BSG, & The Expanse are all just so good and yet all so very different. Hard to rank them.
So,
1. 3 way tie
4. Babylon 5
5. Stargate

All very good shows, with different approaches. I would say:
Babylon 5
Stargate
Farscape
The Expanse
Battlestar Galactica
B5 I put at the top, because it was a well-conceived storyline from start to finish, and was able to address some pretty deep issues:
Aliens as angels (Vorlon manipulation). Politics, not casting Earth as the heroes. Media with their ISN episodes and cut-ins. Pretty fricking impressive for mid-90's.
Stargate next, because for a decent while they did a good job with the "what if it's really happening and covered up" stuff.
Farscape was a really trippy and well made show.
The Expanse isn't glamorous because it's in that phase where we're still stuck in our own solar system, and no outside contact has been made; but it's probably closest to what it will really be like.
I rank BSG 5th, only because it's not original, it's a remake. Still a good show.
