No Escape (1994)

It’s not a great movie, but entertaining enough that I’ve watched it countless times because it would air often on random cable stations.

If we’re including POW films —- Stalag 17.

Also Death Warrant with JCVD is a classic 80s prison romp

JCVD went to the gulag as well in the straight to video banger In Hell, also starring LT

Off topic a bit - do prisoner of war movies count? I think these more commonly get lumped with war movies but can they be considered prison movies? If so that opens up The Great Escape, Stalag 17, A Bridge over River Kwai, Von Ryan Express, maybe Deer Hunter but the pow part is significant but a short part of the film.

How is Escape From Alcatraz not top tier? It's one of the GOATs.

Certainly if we’re including military PRISONer of war films it has to be up there.

I’d throw out Stalag 17 and Bridge on the River Kwai if we’re going that direction too

Might have to throw in Rescue Dawn,
King Rat and the Great Raid.

I’ve also always liked “The one that got away” about a German POW who made
several escapes.
