There were actually three Pearl Harbor veterans in the theater with me. To this day I hate that those men had to go through those three hours of atrocious filmmaking.

At least this scene slapped:

Pearl Harbor is one of those movies that I know has flaws, but I watch it every time it comes on cable. It’s a nostalgic love for me.

I think most people actually secretly enjoy it while claiming to hate it bc they heard everyone else say they hated it

I ride for this movie

It’s insanely rewatchable and a good cast

Saw this with my parents in the theater

The faith hill song is good and really hits the emotions during the credits

I went to Pearl Harbor 2 years ago. A guide there told us that the only factual things in the movie was that there was a Naval Base at Pearl Harbor and it was attacked by the Japanese.

I was excited to see it and went to the theater with high expectations.

Left very disappointed and have never watched it again. I guess I was naive enough to not expect Hollywood to try to turn it into a chick/romance thing.

Same was true of The Perfect Storm. Loved the book, couldn’t wait to see the movie, hated it, mainly due to too much BS about the wives and girlfriends, and never watched it again. Maybe one day I’ll rewatch but skip the first 30 minutes or so.

Goodness. Spot on opinion.

I'd say FFighters, but that's relegating the band moreso than using a band as a qualifier. It's an underrated film, and I put my snobbery up there with anyone on the movie/tv board, and this is by far the most honest, objective board there is on this website. Does anybody really doubt there were pilots who wanted to get in planes and go on the attack but were held back by commanding officers who knew they'd need capable pilots at a more strategic time? Spolt on assessment.

The topic of one of Roger Ebert's most famous reviews:

"Pearl Harbor is a two-hour movie squeezed into three hours, about how on Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese staged a surprise attack on an American love triangle."

They utilized the USS Lexington CV-16 in Corpus Christi for filming.

Me too. It’s definitely flawed, but I still enjoy it.
