Almost started a thread recently asking if meadows is one of the all time great bit players…he’s never really carried anything on his own except Ladies Man but he’s made guest appearances or had small recurring roles on so many shows and he’s always good. It’s something about his delivery

He’s perfect as a bit player. There are a lot like that. Jack Black was much better in smaller roles. Same for Seth Rogan.

Anyone else feel like the show seems a little sloppy and cheap? Something about the filmmaking style comes off as half-assed. Hard to describe but I just get that vibe. Comes off like Gunn threw this together quickly and didn't take it seriously.

The dad really being a good guy made Vigilante that much more tragic

The scene with adebayo running and jumping into the pool was poorly made. I felt like I was watching a CW show.

Yes. Thank you. Seemingly minor things bug the hell out of me and this one had quite a few. It’s primarily direction issues and even good actors (most of these aren’t) can’t overcome it.
The random hesitation leading to just missing something is such a tired movie trope. PM lagging behind so his brother can bust through the wall. Harcourt giving the brother the speech and then she doesn’t get to kill him. Just keep things rolling at a normal pacing. We can keep up. And only the most idiotic viewers are going “oh damn he almost made it”.
And some of the scenes don’t fit the situation they’re in. So they just escaped a mob in the Naziverse at a house who’s owner could be back any minute but we need them to talk so have them play Scrobble? And the whole scene in the house with all the cops shooting and it was like they had all the time in the world for this dramatic stuff.
And what was the deal with PM and HC on the bike “running” from the cops only to give it up so easily? Felt like they were going for something else there that just didn’t land with me. Seemed like a cheap way out I guess because they had to spend on the explosions after that. Gimmie a good chase scene. You could tell they were in front of a green screen at the beginning of it.
Just kind of disappointing after what a gem last week was.
