I watched it last night on Roku. Excellent flick. Lucy Liu could get it.

Yeah this is the second hottest Liu has ever been in a movie I think.

First is Lucky Number Slevin. She absolutely the epitome of cute-hot in that one.

And she was billed as Lucy Alexis Liu, which makes her even hotter for some reason. She was very believable in her role in Payback. She probably whipped some director’s arse along the way.

Regular or director’s cut?

Man this is a good question. I own both.

Had I never seen the original, I’d like the directors cut better. Honestly I like the less serious story in the theatrical version. I like the irony that he just wants his 70k back.

The directors cut is a very different and much grittier version

For whatever reason the GF picked this one tonight. This used to be on TNT/TBS weekly back in the day.

Opening credits, not what I remembered.

Something about the color of this movie kept it from real commercial success. I’m convinced of it. I get that they were trying to capture something mystic with the blue tint on everything, but it cost them millions…I guess score one for artistic integrity?

Thanks. Watched last night.
Been a while since I watched the original release, but yeah this one is very different and Proctor is much more of an a-hole and crook for one thing.
Great watch though.

Darker.

Different 3rd Act.

Kristofferson isn't in it.

this reminds me of a thread i've been meaning to start.

we recently watched a movie ( a sequel) and i noticed that a person from the first movie (that wasn't in the second) was listed in the credits. movie was fine, but i wanted to look that up and the wikipedia plot had an entirely different third act than what we watched. come to find out they released two entirely different movies with completely different endings.

i actually preferred the wikipedia entry and not the one we saw.
