you wanted them to show a 20 minute realtime montage of him doing a standard preflight routine? just assume he did that lol
Everybody worried about taking off and flying but I’m thinking it’s a bold assumption to expect a clear runway to land it.

He could try Charlie Brown if Hartsfield is messed up.

I didn't realize that was the season finale.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s weird that he is going out in a post apocalyptic world by himself to find his wife with no resources? Why not take a team and stock up on supplies?

Yeah, that was a stretch to throw in a feel good scene and tie in the pilot Son to the pilot Dad.
I mean, some of the best of the best pilots in the world flew those planes to the mountain. Why aren't they the ones flying one out? And unless they portray this as a rogue, off the reservation flight by Xavier, at least give him a co-pilot. I realize you suspend reality in a show such as this, but the writing and screenplay have been fantastic to this point, why not make that final scene a little more plausible.
Still, along with Ted Lasso and Slow Horses, one of the best shows on TV in a decade.

So what’s his plan when he flies out?
What’s everyone’s theory on where the wife is and how hell he’s gonna find her. How did she survive and how are they living?

I think they are going to portray it as a rogue mission. He is going to recon, figure out he cant land or some such. He will see mass destruction and people or settlements on the ground, try to make radio contact or be seen before flying back to the mountain where his kids are.
Season 2 will be a group of outsiders trying to locate the mountain and the mountain in-fighting on whether or not to reveal themselves or their location.
For the record, I have been wrong on every prediction so far in this series, and will likely continue that streak.

we've finished 3 episodes so far and are enjoying it. Although the fact that the dead prez was sleeping with the chick that looks like she ran face first into a brick wall has made me lose my suspension of disbelief.

Loved the show. Finished it over the past two nights. My only question is why did Cal hesitate in pulling the trigger on the blue codes? It’s was like he waited for the nuke to hit Atlanta.

Just finished the finale. Show is very good, but unfortunately has the tough task of going against Severance for me right now. Paradise felt a little like a normal ABC drama when compared against.
Sinatra felt too over the top/trying too hard acting in some spots. I found myself rolling my eyes at her more than I was scared of her as a viewer. Will still watch future seasons and enjoy it, but outside of Marsden-led masterpiece of the penultimate episode…it didn’t have quite enough to make me put it in the elite class like some others. YMMV

I loved it. I actually thought the show had some great funny lines in addition to the suspense.
My favorite line in the whole show was “why the F is he talking like Santa Clause”

The twist with Jane is interesting tho. Who is she working for?
I think she just psychotic.

Also, the chick shot Sinatra right in the chest and said you'll have a long recovery. Why not just kill her and why wouldnt that kill her? I dont understand the point of having her around as the most powerful woman who will obviously want your head. Just give her the head shot.
There's gotta be more to it than she is just looney right? Why would she said "I'm not done with you yet" if she didn't have some kind of covert plan to carry out? I think that she might be a Russian cell or something.
Show was A LOT better than I was anticipating. Great acting, and the suspense and tension in the last couple of episodes was on point.
The chain of events that led to the nukes being shot off was kind of murky. So the initial threat was an apocalyptic tsunami, but wouldn't even a giant tsunami just affect the coast and how ever many miles inland? That is obviously catastrophic, but it is hard to believe that it'd be SO bad where it would push nuclear powers to unload their bombs. Also, wouldn't we at least attempt to stop the nukes with anti-missile defense?
I know its just a show, so none of that bothered me that much.
The Librarian twist was definitely out of left field, and I'm not sure I loved it, but the flashback/setup was really well done, so I'm good with it.

The librarian twist could have came across as very silly, but I thought they did an excellent job setting that up.

Just started watching this with the wife. They shoot some of it in our neighborhood. The house where Collins lives is near the clubhouse and the lake he and Pace were jogging around at the beginning of Ep 3 is where I walk every night. They were just shooting here last Thursday.

It's my favorite show of the year so far. Episode 7 is imo the best episode of TV I've ever seen .

I binged this show over the weekend and was ready to quit after episode 3 or 4. It's predictable, the narrative choices are nonsensical, the dialogue is absolute shite, the incessant flashbacks are obnoxious. I kept hearing from my sister and others that recommended it "just get to episode 7" and I promised I would.
That was some of the most well executed, most gripping television I've seen lately (only other episode that comes to mind is the OTC episode from Severance).
How on earth did the team that made the rest of the season make this episode? Baffling.

i do agree it was a much better episode than the rest of the series, but i wasn't that harsh at the other ones.
Marsden's best work other than Jury Duty.

I've never seen Marsden turn in a shite performance. He gives sincere effort in every role he plays

I thought he was waiting for them to land as it would have caused their plane to crash. I seem to remember him asking how long before they landed when he was talking about doing it.
