I'm trying to avoid reading spoilers, we have 2 episodes to go. But this last weekend I had the thought of whether the true theme of the show is that white woman helicopter moms will destroy the world. Probably.

Episode 8 was definitely not as good as 7, but still REALLY GOOD.

‘Should have let me have the Wii’: it was perfect.

Librarian came outta nowhere- that was a cool tie in. I was a little disappointed in X hopping in a plane and just flying out of there, though. I know it’s fiction, but you don’t just hop in a jet, look at a few drawings and take off.

I believe they established in the earlier episodes that Xavier has a pilot’s license.

Correct. Learned from his father and grandfather but chose a different path.

We know he’s a pilot but to just hop in that plane and take off? I get not doing a complete flight check, but he didn’t look at anything. Not to mention the old fuel and likely pests/rodent damage over the years. Like the other poster alluded to, we understand it’s fiction but there were plenty of eye rolls.

Also, it sucked seeing Cal lose his life that way. As stated, Marsden did a fine job.

He lives in a dome, inside a mountain, in a city that sustains 25k people. It's ok to suspend belief.

Oh I know you’re right, just hard not to nit-pick sometimes. It’s a great show so those little things don’t matter much. Also, dude should’ve shot Sinatra two episodes ago

How about the fact X just is going to fly into the post apocalyptic world by himself still in a suit? lol

He has a whole damn team at his command back in the dome. Pack some food and some medicine, etc.

A little extreme imo

Funny thing is, he actually played JFK in Lee Daniel's The Butler

Binged the whole season in one day while I've been in bed sick. What a show. The first episode grabs you in, and a couple of episodes in the middle were pretty meh, but the final two episodes were incredible. It did a nice job of answering almost every question from episode 1 but still developing new plots for season 2.

For a "land grab." Presumably in the case they survived, even knowing everyone else would also let it rip. Basically just said fuggit, let em fly.

So how do you think they have all those voices on recording?

And where do you think his wife is?

Are there still some structures left?

You saw him moving shite around, and a couple of clips of him in the cockpit....

you wanted them to show a 20 minute realtime montage of him doing a standard preflight routine? just assume he did that lol

Alright so I watched the first 7 episodes on the Friday before the finale. Got hooked and went on a 9 day cruise and just watched the finale today.

My observations, I knew from the start that Cal was just a front for the ruling class. I loved his character. He and his relationship with his dad reminded me of Paul Giamatti and his dad on Billiions. He wanted to do his own thing, but his dad was heavily entrenched with the ruling class and had too much swing.

Stirling Brown was great as well. I had forgotten his dad was a pilot and didn't remember until I was asking myself how he was going to fly that plane.

The secret service chick is going to be a problem moving forward.

I am curious what happens to Sinatra, because she is at the Mercy of the crazy chick, and it looks like the new POTUS maybe grew some balls at the end? We'll see.

I hope this doesn't turn into a crappy version of fallout/last ship.
