Agreed. Pulled me back in with the last two episodes. Great ending to episode 4. Also is Marsden the nicest president ever in a television show?

i don't know about "nice" but I think he was exceptionally brave and noble beyond what most presidents would have done in S1E7

feeling it’s filler while watching it - but then BOOM, it hits. I’d say the last five minutes of the episode makes everything you just watched matter to you.

Exactly. Why it was just kinda bummed verse saying well that was a total waste because the last few minutes went a long way to make up for the rest. Wish we had gotten more than just roll out and knock knock about what’s going on out west above ground.

One thing I wonder about is why they have stayed in the bunker so long. Xavier was in or near Atlanta and he could walk around in the open. Folks went all the way from Memphis in the open. Seems when the President ordered the giant EMP, that got rid of most of the nukes and not very many hit their targets.

So, why are they still underground? Seems they could go topside. Does Sinatra have a reason she wants them to stay underground for a while?

Some of this is addressed in the first season. Sinatra doesn’t want those in the bunker to know what life is really like outside the bunker. As for the reasoning, that hasn’t been fully explained yet, but I suspect it has something to do with her secret project.

Iirc, when the bartenders wife radioed in to say they found survivors, Sinatra sent Billy out to eliminate them. So yes, she didn’t want the folks in the bunker to know of those outside.

(Minor spoiler)

In the latest episode as Sinatra was talking to the baby, she told him that he would see the real stars some day…

This last episode was a tough watch. I’m enjoying life outside of the bunker.

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. I'm not trying to hold this show to the standard of some prestige show. It’s more of a network TV type show, and it’s really entertaining for what it is.

Hulu shows have a bit of a formula and Paradise is no exception. It is extremely similar to handmaids tale in how the episodes run. Both shows tend to be somewhat boring and will have really good cliffhangers at the end of each episode that draw you in and they LOVE covers of popular songs. I think the show is pretty good for what it is

That’s about where I’m at in regards to season 2. Another episode that doesn’t really move the needle and then boom last few minutes hooks you back in.

I'm about over this show at this point. We are on Episode 5 now. It's an 8 episode season. Well over half way done. They are just dragging and they keep adding on and adding on. Episode 5 introduces another whole bunch of new people and again its like it is a different show. That is twice this season.

We've seen Paradise, what, maybe one episode this season? There is still a lot to explore with those folks. Nah, screw all that, give me 10 new folks to hamfist in to the show.

I hate Hollywood.

The Hound Dog cover had me so conflicted. I hated it at first, but then I found it kind of interesting and poignant.

Haven’t seen episode 5 yet….but I do remember last season we had the flashback episode of the librarian midway through the season. He was a character that was only seen in passing but became kinda important.

When Xavier (the main character) took the plane away from the bunker at the end of season 1, I fully anticipated season 2 to be mainly away from the bunker.
This isn’t quite as awesome as season 1, but season 2 has still be good imo. To your point where I agree, it seems like they are going to have to cram a lot in the last 3 episodes.

I think it's got something to do with time travel.

I too am really enjoying this season but could understand how some would be frustrated with very little paradise action.

I think it's an AI/Quantum Computer type entity named Alex that is pulling the power. They mentioned getting into paradise and "killing Alex", which baby daddy apparently created, naming it after his mentor's dead wife.
