The dialogue is just as cringy.

nah, it's far better. Steppenwolf now has a coherent purpose and goal, instead of calling "Mother" to some inanimate objects.

The tone is still a bit overbearing at times; it would have been okay to use 1 sad, morose song instead of 3-4 of them. That just seemed to take a lot of momentum out of it; the only character that really fit would have been Lois Lane.

It's notable that Marvel has been able to pair just the right tunes with their heroes (AC/DC with Iron Man, Immigrant Song with Thor) and DC is fumbling around badly trying to capture the spirit of their folks.
I'm not saying put Boston in the soundtrack, but something resembling Don't Look Back seems like it would have fit better as the heroes united... something with more energy and tempo, more optimistic and forward thinking.

Was a massive improvement over the theatrical release. My goodness...amazing what setting up the plot can do for a movie

They could have released this as two parts a year apart like Infinity War/Endgame did or hell, other franchises have done two parters pretty successfully.

It would have been far better to get 2 decent movies out there than 1 (imo) awful movie like we got.

Damn, the ending got me so hyped for a sequel with the Legion of Doom and Darkseid vs Justice League. Too bad that won't happen

The dialogue from the Whedon’s Superman opening sequence.

We finished watching this today. A much better movie than what Whedon put out. I want to see sequels to this, especially the alternate timeline movie. Too bad that probably won't happen, instead we'll get Pattinson banging Zoe Kravitz on the hood of the Batmobile.

The only problem with splitting this cut up would be that the first part would struggle as a stand-alone movie imo

Totally agree

You’d almost have to end it after the fight under Gotham Harbor.

Just finished. This was significantly better than the theatrical version but not without its own problems (way too much slow motion, the annoying wonder woman music, pacing, etc). I still really enjoyed it though and it served all of the characters way better than the previous version.

It's a shame we didn't get a better run with Cavill as superman. I feel like he could have been great but was let down by both poor writing and directing. He's probably the most superman looking person alive and is a better actor than people give him credit for.

True, but look at the positive: them dragging their feet allowed him to play Geralt and he has absolutely owned that role.

Just finished as well after 4 different start/stops. Agreed on all points

I enjoyed it more in just about every aspect except the length. The slow-mos were a little stupid but I did like it when the batmobile was in play. That was really my only time it served a purpose.

I struggle to call it a movie with the parts and length that made it. It was something different. I hate to be dramatic and call it an experience but that’s maybe a better use than the word movie

The ending with Cyborg’s dad finishing his message was a much better closure than what we got in the original, but I will say the overall ending suffered from Return of the Kingism with just having so many parts that dragged on.

Bruce’s dream could have been shortened 5 minutes and would have been better served after the credits, but that’s maybe MCU bias.

Overall, glad it was made and it speaks volumes to the cast for coming back and doing reshoots and their faith in Snyder.

Joss Wheedon sucks donkey balls.

That and his earlier speech to him, Superman’s scene in his ship with his fathers voiceover, and the Amazon’s defending their Motherbox were the top 3 moments in the movie. Seeing the Old Gods in action along with Victor Stone’s “frick the world” line were top 5 moments.

Gal Gadot is absolutely perfect as Wonder Woman. Her character is every bit of a female role model for young women. Strong, beautiful, kind, tough, and honest.

Agreed. As stupid as it is to say about a comic book movie, that scene was incredibly moving to hear two fathers saying the same thing.

I’d actually say the only thing that even touched on that in MCU is both GotG endings.

That Cyborg football scene adds so much humanity to him the first one didn’t

It lets you actually relate to who he actually was before the accident

I thought it fricking rocked.

Snyder did a Vanity Fair interview and said his goal was a 5-part saga, starting with MoS. So there would’ve been two more films. Doubt it happens with all the moving parts and Affleck leaving, but I would watch the shite out of two more of those every five years or so

It was fine. Don’t really understand all the dramatic takes about it.

Thought the epilogue bit got way too carried away.

apparently, the storyboard for the planned sequels were leaked then quickly deleted by WB a few years ago.

** Possible SPOILERS for leaks of a movie that will never happen **

Justice League 2 was gonna have Lex Luthor recruit Dr. Maru (Wonder Woman gas doctor), Captain Cold, Ocean Master, Black Manta, and Riddler with Lex using them to collect the motherboxes. Wonder Woman was able to connect the human world to the amazon world and return home. Aquaman reunites all 7 kingdoms of the sea. Barry Allen gets his dad exonerated(with help from Cyborg). Batman and Lois also apparently were a thing before Superman was revived and Lois might be pregnant with Bruce's kid...
Batman and Lois lane work together to find Lex and a love triangle develops. Superman obviously can hear the heartbeat from Lois' pregnancy and sees that Lois is afraid to tell him about the baby. Batman finds the Riddler in a very manic state because the Riddler found out Lex's plan to give the anti-life equation to Darkseid...the riddler kills himself after revealing this to Batman. Lois finds out that Lex has the three motherboxes. Desaad and Darkseid arrive when Lex puts the boxes together. Superman senses this and flies off after telling Bruce to keep Lois safe in the Batcave.

Bruce asks Lois about the pregnancy...Lois tells Bruce that Bruce is not the father and Batfleck leaves without hearing her out.

Right before Darkseid and Superman start to fight, Darkseid teleports to Lois in the batcave. Darkseid collapses the batcave and superman flies there as fast as he can but he arrives just in time to see Darkseid turn her into ash. Superman explodes in anger which allows Darkseid to control him with the anti-life equation. Superman is now evil.

Dr. Maru arrives in Themyscira and covers the island in a new poison gas killing all the amazons including Diana and the Queen.

As Aquaman is getting crowned as the king of the 7 kingdoms and a united Atlantis...he is shot through the heart by Black Manta as Mera and Ocean Master fight.

Captain Cold nearly kills Barry but Cyborg essentially sacrifices himself to save him (blown in half but alive)

Batman barely escapes from Superman... Superman finds lex and stares him right in the eyes then uses his heat vision to set Lex on fire.

5 years later.... The epilogue scene we got in the Snyder cut with Batman, Mera, Barry, Joker, and Deathstroke.

The End

That movie seems like it would have to be 4 hours long as well to make any sense
