that was my question. How the hell does the tiger know who is who. Hell almost everyone looked similar how did Hilltop and kingdom soldiers know who to shoot at?

Didn't they mention a back entrance or tunnel that Sasha or someone had created an episode or 2 ago?

No that was at hilltop. I guess they expect us to think they all scaled over the walls. Horses and tiger included

The only thing that bothered me, and i'd have to re-watch it to verify the timeline, was it looked like they wired the dynamite before the garbage people got there. Why tell them the entirety of the plan when you don't know them? If you keep that part of the plan secret, then at the very least you still get it off. It just doesn't make sense that Rick and Co. would trust these loons enough to fully disclose everything.

As half of Alexandria is standing 20 feet away blasting off 500 rounds per second with fully automatic weapons.

Like in the first episode when zombies could turn door knobs and bend over and pick up stuffed animals , now they can't walk over a rock.

Not an explanation for the horses or the tiger, but there is a sewer leading in/out of Alexandria under the wall that Maggie and what's his name went through when she went out looking for Glenn a few seasons back (I think that was the situation).

Anyone else keep waiting for Dwight to step up and sacrifice himself for his wife and his honor by killing Negan?

I don't know why but I had my hope that he would do that prior to seeing Sasha entering the coffin.

The middle finger while leaving in the truck was good but bullets were flying every where. They just make too much of the gun battles unbelievable. Too many bullets, too much standing in the open, too much everything. I can live with the trained tiger because it's kind of fun but for some reason the battle scenes drive me nuts.

I honestly thought Eugene was gonna get blown TF up when he said 'I am Negan'

Wouldn't have cared and I actually like eugenes character
Yea, I'm good w/Eugene, but if the moment Eugene said "I'm Negan" Rick woulda just not hesitated and shot him, that woulda been badass.

at some point they'll need to move off the reliance on vehicles and gasoline, pre ZA bullet supplies, canned goods, etc. maybe they'll jump forward like they did after the zombie invasion of Alexandria
I mean, maybe if the series is about to end they'll do it in the final season or something.

But for what this series has built itself up to, I don't think they can get rid of vehicles, bullets, and canned goods and continue for multiple seasons like that. That would be tough IMO.

i forgot about that
and obviously maggie knows about that
good call

i guess we can assume that the kingdom and hilltop arrived, clandestinely mustered and saw the situation going bad, and snuck in the back

if i recall that passage was plenty big enough for the tiger, not sure about the horses

The entirety of last season's finale was awful

Wtf?

If it was a middle of the season type of episode where you would have found out the next week who got lucilled, it would have been considered an awesome episode.. the cliffhanger was shitty, but the episode was phenomenal.. I felt hopeless just watching

I wasn't a big fan of the "let's have Rick run around all over the place to make a point" thing. It seemed completely unnecessary.

3 thoughts from last night's episode

1. When Rick tells Negan he is gonna kill him and everyone on his side, it made me want him to die. How fricking dumb can you be to have all those guns pointed at you and your boys head tee'd up to play a little pepper to just think that you are gonna get out of this?

2. They really tried to make Sasha a sympathetic character over the course of the season, but I never bought what they were selling. Her dying had no impact on me. ETA: how funny would it have been if Negan opened the coffin and she had just died...and wasn't a zommbie yet?

3. The garbage people group is literally the worst thing in the history of ever. They changed their entire speech pattern in 3 or 4 years??? They live in the dumpster but all have psuedo-chic Mad Max/Matrix hybrid uniforms??? The whole thing stinks.

My favorite part of this season.

Totally disagree. It built a feeling of complete hopelessness with each blockage. It was slowly draining Ricks confidence and courage. I thought it was masterful.

While I may not go that far it was definitely a huge turning point in re-establishing Ricks resolve and fearlessness. "Kill my boy. Cut off my hands. Whatever is left of me is going to kill you." Stone cold statement. It's the attitude you must have if you're going to take down a figure like Negan.

Random thoughts:

1. I loved the look/grin Carol shot Ezekiel after he talked to Morgan. Sometimes I forget that she's the only person who knows the whole King thing is an act.

2. Someone mentioned that it was dumb that none of Negan's top guys died. I agree with this, and think it would have made for a pretty compelling story if Simon was killed, and Negan promoted Dwight to his position.

3. The season could have ended with the Saviors being slaughtered, and everyone who has ever been hurt by Negan taking turns hitting him with Lucille, and there would still be people in this thread saying that they are still in a zombie apocalypse, which is right where the show started, therefore nothing happened in this episode.
