I enjoyed it for what it was
I agree completely

My biggest grip is NO AFTER CREDIT SCENE! What the hell? How do you not tease Darkseid? Or at the very least the Watchtower? That was bullshite. They could have just taken the scene with Wonder Woman looking at the footage and made that the after credit scenes.
I agree completely

Haha wait so the kryptonite spear was trapped under a rock underwater and superman is able to lift said rock, grab the huge piece of kryptonite and then swim with the kryptonite? That's even more ridiculous. The rocks had collapsed on top of the water trapping Lois in there, nothing was shown about a rock also falling and trapping the spear.
Bottom line is if Lois can't do something superman surely can't in the presence of kryptonite!!! He couldn't even breathe or standup just a couple minutes before that because of kryptonite!

I agree, the Wonder Woman scenes were awesome. Had that 300 feel to it. The rest is just so bad and it drags on and on.

Saw the movie last night.
Flash showing up in the dream was confusing. It didn't even look like flash.
Lex Luthor was terrible. not sure what Eisenberg was trying to do but it didn't work.
I enjoyed affleck as batman...but the straight up killing dudes goes against the character.
They just tried to cram waaaay too much into this film IMO.

I enjoyed this movie, I think if they cut about 20-30 minutes it's probably a much better movie tho. Doomsday just felt so out of place story wise, i think that's something you do on a true Man of Steel sequel but I suppose it is something of a mini justice league assembly for. However the fight against him was everything I would want growing up on those Justice League cartoons.
Ben Affleck may be the best batman tho and I'm very excited for a Wonder Woman movie

My god this movie was a trainwreck.
Zack Snyder's "interpretation" of these characters is garbage. Utter garbage. He completely ruined batman.
The script was awful. I cringed so many times at the terrible dialogue.
It felt totally messy and disconnected. It's also like it was almost two movies, because the entire tone changed like 2/3 into it and became super cheesy and awful.
Zack Snyder wants to be Nolan sooo bad. So so bad. But he's not even close.
Also it's apparent DC is desperate to try to catch up to Marvel since they've been sitting on their hands while the MCU takes over theaters. I think Marvel will keep their crown if they leave this set of movies in the incapable hands of Mr. Snyder.
I think I'll call this movie a gold plated dumpster. It's gold- it looks great, has spark. But in the end it's still a fricking dumpster full of garbage.

Yeah they are so desperate to catch marvel and make a justice league event movie that it screwed this movie over.
Doomsday was totally unneeded. Felt like they were trying to cram him in similar to venom in spidey 3 and goblin on amazing spidey 2.

Yes, because it would have been more honest
No. Honest would have been superman breaking batman's legs before Batman could even blink after the first round of Kryptonite wore off. Honest would have been Batman getting his arse kicked at that point...not being given the ole' "smallville heave-ho" and just knocking him across the screen.

I love how the detractors day people either love or hate this movie.
I don't know (and haven't read) many people that "love" this movie. I have seen a good number of people that "liked" or "enjoyed" this movie in this (and other threads) and have seen a lot of people who revile and hate this movie here.
What is even more interesting is that the people that like or enjoy this movie don't question the intelligence or chromosome numbers for the people that hate it. Unfortunately, the reverse is not the case.

Can you imagine being Ben Afleck and having to take direction from a goon like Snyder? Good Lord.
I'd love to hear BA's private thoughts on Snyder as a filmmaker.

Was I the only one who thought Lex's theme sounded like something from a Universal Monsters movie?

Zack Snyder talks about a lot of things that were running through his head in this article.
quote:LINK
From the very start, director Zack Snyder knew that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice — the long-anticipated sequel to his 2013 Superman reboot, Man of Steel — was going to end with the death of the most iconic superhero in all of superherodom: Superman.
“I felt it was inevitable,” Snyder recently told BuzzFeed News. “Even when we were working on Man of Steel, I was like, Gosh, what are we going to do with this guy? He’s a pretty tough cookie.”
After all, Superman is a paragon for truth, justice, and the American way, on top of being a superhero whose powers seem limited only by the movie’s visual-effects budget (which is to say, not limited much at all). Snyder felt that the Man of Steel did not allow much room for standard character development. “He’s so mythic,” the director said with a small sigh. “Superman takes cosmic shifts to get him to move emotionally [and] that reinforces his mythic nature.”
“The sketch of the movie was Batman hates Superman because he doesn’t have the perspective of a god,” Snyder explained. “So when Superman comes to Metropolis, [Bruce Wayne] just sees the destruction — he doesn’t see the ‘why’ of [his battle with General Zod]. He doesn’t realize its global consequences. Thousands to save billions, right? And Superman hates Batman because he believes in the rule of law, and is like, ‘Bro, like, judge, jury, and executioner? That’s not cool!’”
“The catalyst, the need for the Justice League, has to rise from something,” he said. These powerful superheroes, in other words, couldn’t just get together for a picnic. So, as Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) intones at the end of Batman v Superman, that “something” ended up being the death of Superman — a cosmic bell that cannot be unrung, and would signify that Earth was suddenly vulnerable.
“To me, [Superman’s death] solved so many great problems,” said Snyder.
“I was shocked that people did not immediately jump to the conclusion,” said Snyder. “I think they just felt like, ‘That’s impossible. They’re not going to kill Superman.’ [b]I mean, a couple people did [figure it out], but then they were all yelled at. It was funny.”

Oh, and apparently Jimmy Olsen is the one killed in that opening Africa scene: LINK
Yeah, you're a fricking genius aren't you Snyder? Killing off one of the main characters of the mythos in an opening scene. Aside from the comic book fans, who is really going to give a shite? And the people who will give a shite are only going to be pissed off for being misled.
quote:
Interestingly enough, Snyder originally wanted Jesse Eisenberg to play the character, noting they initially wanted to shock the audience with Olsen's sudden exit. "I thought, if it were Jesse Eisenberg and he got out and he goes, 'I’m Jimmy Olsen,' you'd be like, oh my God, we’re gonna have Jimmy Olsen in the whole movie, right?'" the director said. "And then if he got shot, you’d just be like, ‘What!? You can’t do that.'"

OK, so whether or not you like Snyder's DC or not, you have to find this funny
:

quote:
Speaking with Vulture, Michael Shannon explained that he has absolutely no concern over whether or not Batman can actually beat Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, or anywhere else. He said:
"I’m so utterly unconcerned with the outcome of that fight. So profoundly, utterly unconcerned. I can’t even come up with a fake answer. I guess I have to root for Superman because he killed me, so I would hope that he would continue his killing spree and become like a serial killer Superman. That’s a new take on Superman. We’d all be in a heap of trouble if Superman was a serial killer. He could just wipe us all out. But then he’d be lonely."
