Just watched it. I really enjoyed it. Great movie. I won't try to sound like a douche movie critic like everyone else in this thread.

Speaking with Vulture, Michael Shannon explained that he has absolutely no concern over whether or not Batman can actually beat Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, or anywhere else. He said:

"I’m so utterly unconcerned with the outcome of that fight. So profoundly, utterly unconcerned. I can’t even come up with a fake answer. I guess I have to root for Superman because he killed me, so I would hope that he would continue his killing spree and become like a serial killer Superman. That’s a new take on Superman. We’d all be in a heap of trouble if Superman was a serial killer. He could just wipe us all out. But then he’d be lonely."

That is hilarious

I just got out.

It's actually pretty good.

Pretty much everyone who can't understand the character changes in batman didn't pay attention the psychological undertones of pretty much every scene presented to you about Bruce in the first hour. He was slowly going mad from losing everyone close to him. And the dreams made it worse, but also had a point of expressing the growing madness.

Abell, OML, you guys are pretty ridiculous with one.

Don't go in expecting this movie to change the world and you won't be disappointed.

I keep hearing that people enjoyed it. My wife just got back from seeing it and she loved it. She knows nothing about comics. I keep thinking that maybe I missed something on this. Maybe I just had this expectation in my mind and I'm coming down too hard on it.

I think it's probably just that people have different opinions on what makes a movie valuable or worthless. I think most people can agree that the movie is sloppy at times and that affects people in different ways. Some people it can ruin the entire movie. Some people it can not be a big deal.

I will give this movie another watch and I'll even try to give it the benefit of the doubt on everything.

Some things I just can't get passed, though. They're subjective, like the look and campiness of certain things. Again, those things can carry more or less weight on certain people.

Batman killing people is problem #35 I have with this movie. There are much bigger problems with this movie than them breaking "Batman doesn't kill" rule (especially after Man of Steel). The very foundation of this movie is entirely flawed, with them having "The Dark Knight Returns" and "The Death of Superman" as its templates.

Just everything aside from Affleck's casting I think is totally fricked. The movie only has one high point with Batman coming in and kicking criminal asses. Save for that, it was boring and aimless as shite.

Do you get tired of typing the same thing over and over in multiple threads? I get tired of reading it.

At this point I'm thinking that Luthor's warning at the end of the movie wasn't about Darkseid. He was warning us about OMLandshark.

Just got out of movie. I loved it. Flaws? I guess so. But if you go to a movie where super hero's are fighting a mutant alien and expect to see Gone with the Wind then you are a retard.

I will probably go see it again while in the theatre. BTW Batman 89 killed people.

Yeah, and Superman killed a powerless Zod in the Donner version while smirking. Didn't keep anyone from bitching about MOS.

Such a bullshite argument. I don't go into movies expecting masterpieces (unless the film maker is particularly good). I expect competence. There is none in this movie. Yes no one was expecting Citizen Kane, but it was just awful.

Oh I'm not just talking about that but everything else you have been saying about this movie is obsurd and grossly over exaggerated.

quote:

The very foundation of this movie is entirely flawed,

Like this. The foundation of this movie has to do with the aftermath of MoS, how loss has slowly added up and is driving Wayne mad, how superman is conflicted with his actions and fully realizing his earth fathers warning to him, and about Man's innate fear of God and their Inability to control it. What you just described are stories the movie is influenced by, not a foundation.

And This isn't some profound amazing movie, but it's a lot better than what you have been spewing everywhere on this forum.

And damn how the constant campaigning has been suffocating.

No, that is actually my #1 problem with this movie. TDKR and TDoS should be set up over years. It'd be like us getting Civil War right after Iron Man. Those are movies that take 8-10 years to set up. You don't go with them straight out of the gate. I need to understand Batman and Superman's place in this universe before engaging in those stories. We by no means understood this.

You can say that it was founded on factors not relating to those comics, but Snyder and Goyer wouldn't shut up on bringing TDKR to justice. I find it basically impossible that's not what they based the film around. Batman vs Superman should have been years down the road, not the first thing out of their mouths.

Well i guess I don't need any more proof of how you are incapable of being objective about this movie.

It is my most fervent wish that you only had one thing to say. You are womanly in your obstinance to quiet in the face of overwhelming disapproval.
