Post some shows and movies you only watched at school as a kid.
Voyage of the Mimi
That young lad is Ben Affleck, btw.
Telefrancais
I don’t know what kind of acid these guys were taking but the premise is it’s a talking pineapple who inhabits a junk yard and befriends two kids. It’s meant to teach French.
Obligatory Bill Nye mention....
What are some others?

Any time the teacher had a hangover...
I probably watched The Sandlot 20 times in elementary and middle school. A teacher I had for 6th and 8th grade said it was one of her favorite movies.

Romeo and Juliet.
We watched the accurate one with a nudity scene, and the silly modern day one with guns that had the word sword written on it.

My Spanish teacher in high school always showed Selena. That always made for a letdown.
Us: "Yay! Movie day!"
*TV starts playing Selena*

In the pre-videotape days, they very rarely rolled out the projector (and it was never for feature films). Every couple of years we might get a field trip to see a historical film if they were at the theater.
But my senior year, Close Encounters of the Third Kind came out and as a joke we convinced our English teacher that NONE of us had seen or heard of Close Encounters. For some reason he thought it was the best movie ever and he got permission to take the entire senior class on a field trip to see the movie.

I have been trying to find this old drunk driving PSA starring Val Kilmer.
He and his girlfriend go to a party. He gets drunk, but his girlfriend only has 1 (or two?) beers. They start to leave and he argues iwth his girlfriend over who gets to drive the car.
The girlfriend's best friend gets upset and runs outside trying to stop the car. Little does she know that the boyfriend agreed to be the passenger. The car creeps down the road going about 5 mph before it shows the girl running out in front of the car. The subsequent shot is a car going about 40 MPH faster slamming into a very obvious crash dummy dressed up as a person. The girlfriend goes to jail because she was legally drunk.

We didn't watch much at school. But:
...we watched that one my sophomore year in HS. And the teacher was a baseball coach and was cool as hell. He rewound the boobs part like 5 or 10 times and we rewatched it over and over.
It was awesome.

My kid has really gotten into the old school Chipmunks and I quickly discovered the late 80's and early 90's didnt frick around. In one Christmas special they openly discuss how this little boy is going to die and not make it through Christmas. In another one they have a kitten and for whatever reason, it jumps out of the window and gets hit by a car. The Chipmunks didn't pull any punches.
