You could have said the same thing about his Batman trilogy.

I really feel there was a missed opportunity to do the Odyssey a couple years after Troy came out with Sean Bean as Odysseus. He's too old for the role now.

Never would have worked. Sean Bean isn’t meant to live that long in a film.

I think Bernthal will play Achilles in a flashback.

Also reading reports that Tom Holland is the lead actor. Maybe Odysseus when he arrived in Troy but I don’t see him as a grizzled war vet of a 10 year siege. I don’t know if I believe the rumors, but I trust Nolan’s judgement if they are true.

If there is one thing I have learned over the last 20 years it's to give Christopher Nolan the benefit of the doubt. He always finds a way to tell what is seemingly a straightforward story in an interesting and unique way.

Sounds really miscast, which is a surprise for Nolan.

I thought I read that Holland was playing a young Odysseus and Damon an older version of him.

I'm starting to look forward to this adaptation. I like the acting ability of the cast, even if I can't "see" how they may fit certain characters in the narrative right now.

I think if anyone can nail a legitimate epic at this point, it's Nolan. Unfortunately, the Ridley Scott ship for good epics has sailed.

Very unusual of Nolan to have two films lined up like that.

I like it.

The good news is it can't be worse than Tenet.
