Its a really interesting scene
Superman just wants to save lives, but the world is more complex than that. There are rules to just how and when and where he can do that, and that is frustrating to him...
...and frustrating to world governments that may have other ideas

I hate Superman.
It looks like there is A LOT going on in that movie.
Trailer looks good though. Maybe it will be good.

Before that trailer the rest was just meh for me. I’m excited to see there’s such of contrast of characters with different personalities and abilities in this movie. Could have a very avengers feel to. Every villian/superhero seemed confident in what they can do. I like that in a superhero flick.

New Superman Trailer Fixes a Key Scene After Backlash
The internet wins again.
The internet wins again.

Some fans were annoyed that Superman reacted when getting hit in the head by a can thrown by some kind of protestor. His head move sightly and most notably, he blinks. Some felt like a superhero that has the power to have bullets bounce right off of him probably shouldn’t be fazed by a tin can. It’s a minor detail that likely wouldn’t have been a big deal after the film’s release, but it seems that scene has been tweaked.

And I’m going to add that Superman isn’t Superman without the John Williams theme.
It just feels right.

Y'all think I'm hating on James Gunn for no reason?
OK.
He even used his own dog as the model for Krypto.

It looks good but does anyone else get the feeling there is too much going on in this movie?

Why would you hate Superman?

Can’t wait.
Been waiting a long time, since Smallville, to get back into Superman on screen. Hopefully this is the one.

+1 that's always been my concern. I'm hoping all those other superheroes are just in the beginning of the film

Thank God they brought it back.
Hans Zimmer's "Flight" >>>>>>>>>>>>>> John Williams' theme.

Facts
I will say that Williams’ is iconic though. It’s what anyone instantly thinks of when thinking about Superman.

James Gunn can’t ‘crack’ the Superman code. Doesn’t GET the character. Probably because Gunn has zero concept of American exceptionalism. Truth justice & the American way are foreign to him. Self inserts his own dog for krypto, puts Pa Kent in a double wide because that’s how he saw farmers growing up.
It’s as much about Gunn as it is a Superman movie.

Saw it last night and the trailer did not inspire me to want to watch it. The lead doesn’t really fit the look of Superman to me from the comics or even the previous films.
Too many characters as usual for Gunn, which will flop. It worked for GOTG because all of them were unknown characters and none were alpha Superheroes in other groups.
Gunn has a vision and it is the same in everything irrespective of the actual story.
With that said, like with Star Wars and Marvel, he will get fan boys that are willing to rush to watch a mediocre product in the theaters. But I think this ends up meh at best.

Raise your hand if you thought Clark was being overly whiny and emotional when he was having his interview with Lois.
Superman will show concern, but he will also show coolness and reserve if you look back at his history. “People were going to die!“ Just seemed off. Maybe there was some other context, but in that snippet it just looked ridiculous.

I think this looks better than where Superman has been for a while. He seems to have the naive with a heart of gold personality that Superman should have. It looks a bit overburdened with CGI - like most movies - and the dog looks like some stupid focus-group tested bullshite that money men want to throw in to appeal to kids, but it could be good.
I still wonder about Gunn on this, though. Superman is a symbol of good and hope in almost a cornball way and Gunn is all about snark and edgy, smartass humor. It will be interesting how it blends. The Reeves Superman is still the perfect depiction in my mind, despite it being more dated by today's effects standard.

Inside the mind of Lex Luthor: How Superman star Nicholas Hoult made DC villain feel suitably dangerous (exclusive)
Hoult wanted the Man of Steel's famed adversary to feel like "a real, credible threat."
quote:
A funny thing happened when Nicholas Hoult first read the script for Superman, the upcoming film from director, writer, and DC Studios head James Gunn. The Mad Max: Fury Road and Nosferatu star, 35, initially went out for the leading role of Clark Kent/Kal-El, the Kryptonian strongman who crash lands on Earth as a babe and struggles ever since to reconcile his upbringing in small-town Kansas with his otherworldly heritage.
"There was a tiny little inkling voice inside of me," Hoult tells Entertainment Weekly over Zoom one afternoon on the last Friday in March. "I was like, 'Maybe you could do a good job with the Lex stuff.'" He means, of course, Lex Luthor, the tech billionaire behind the fictionalized Luthor Corp. and the Man of Steel's most famous enemy in comic book history. "And then I'd bury that thought immediately," Hoult continues, "because I was like, 'Hang on! You've got to focus on the Superman scenes. Let that be. Don't get sidetracked here, Nick.'"
quote:
Gunn described his vision for Luthor as a sorcerer of science, not necessarily a mad one. Hoult gravitates towards that description, noting the level of ingenuity the character works with is so advanced that it feels like magic. He's able to craft unique artillery, some out of kryptonite, a fictional mineral and Superman's ultimate weakness.
"The gadgets and tech he's working with are beyond those things that we can imagine," Hoult remarks. Though he's content with letting fans speculate on what some of those gadgets could be, including a certain revolver Luthor brandishes in the trailers released so far.
