I wonder if this is a soft indication of an "end game" for them

The main voice actors are up in age and they have all agreed once one goes its over (as I recall)

They're contracted up to season 40 so there will still be some episodes coming after the movie

Have an epic "Bart Simpson's, how I met your Mother" type movie with him as an adult, flashbacks to him finally growing up.

Spin-off with Bart's kids, Lisa's adopted kids from Uganda, and Maggie still sucking on her pacifier.

Does Ms. Choksondik make an appearance, because we all know Simpsons Already Did It.

Yes it's probably my favorite tv show of all time and yet I haven't watched a single new episode in 15 years.

The movie definitely seems like the perfect opportunity to setup the end.

I can’t believe it’s gone on as long as it has.

Fun facts:

The "Simpsons Already Did It" episode came out in 2002. That was South Park's 86th episode. At the time, the Simpsons had 291 episodes.

Now, South Park has 333 episodes and the Simpsons has 791.

Fun fact 2. The simpsons movie came out in 2007...18 years after the debut of the show.

The second movie will come out in 2027 20 years after the first and 38 years after the debut of the show.

My hope is that they do right by their fans, and the characters, but sadly there’s a better chance we’ll get a more ‘current day’ send off.

Hollywood is as equally able to hit the mark as it is displaying chart breaking narcissism & self importance.

The movie in 2007 was enjoyable, and I had stopped watching the show 10
Years prior. Hopefully they can do it again.

I haven't watched the Simpsons much since the last movie came out. It's not bad but they could have made it an all-time classic but sold out to global warming propaganda bullshite instead.

The few episodes I've watched over the last two decades have been decent, but I'm just not motivated to be a loyal viewer anymore.

I haven’t hardly watched since 2000 or so. Phil Hartman was one of my favorite voice actors and I prefer those episodes.
