The music is going to be a huge selling point

ETA: which is actually a PRO-Will Smith point.

My problem is that it seems almost every role is miscast.

Jafar seems horribly miscast.

No one was going to be able to hold a candle to Robin Williams as Genie.

This trailer gives me much more hope for the film than the teasers.

A Whole New World sounds great.

As bad as the will smith genie looked, the real deadweight is going to be jaffar. We only got 2 very quick shots of him, and I assume that was intentionally done because it was abundantly clear, even in those quick shots, that he is not the least bit intimidating.

Good fantasy story has to have a good villain, and I’m pretty sure casting missed the mark big time on this one.

It doesn’t look bad

But it doesn’t look good either

I'm still going to watch it but I'll cringe so hard if they add a hip hop vibe to "Friend Like Me" I could almost hear it in the trailer.

Seems like the friendship piece with Genie and Aladdin will be the best part of this with a little more comedic effect to it.

It’s gonna make some money for the simple fact it’s staying true to the music alone.

Sorry if I have a hard time imagining Will Smith singing “Friend Like Me” or “Prince Ali”.

Yeah - it perturbs me that Will Smith doesn’t have the humility to not be Will Smith just this once

Blame that on the casting director. He’s never not been Will Smith so why should he start now?

I am actually pretty pumped about that trailer. Looks like the best live-action Disney classics so far.

I know that's not a high bar, but still.

At least we don't have to listen to Emma Watson screech through these songs.

No, we have Will Smith instead.

That’s the easy one to pull off though. Robin Williams does like 20 impressions during Prince Ali. I can’t see Will Smith coming anywhere close to that.

You think it’s not important to see the character instead of the actor?

I think it's important to recognize that every actor will have a different take on a character, and not everyone has to be Robin Williams being the Genie. If Will Smith portrays the Genie in a way that satisfies me, even if he comes across as Will Smith, that's fine with me. I've been skeptical with how he would perform, but this trailer left me optimistic.

Will Smith just takes himself way too seriously to pull off an over the top character like the Genie.

The end of "Friend Like Me" in that trailer sounded terrible.

My biggest gripe so far is the voice of Jafar. Needs to be a deeper, sinister voice.

Yeah but he still looked like the genie.

The genie, in this movie, is straight up Will Smith being Will Smith.

Why are you bashing Will Smith for not being a cartoon?

This does look like Hi(ndu)tch though

Cinderella is the best one so far. Best acting, truest story, least amount of distracting CGI. Jungle Book is next. Very good voice acting, but the CGI was too much for me. Alice in Wonderland is the same.

All due respect to Emma Watson/Belle, but Jasmine is really done right
