I didn't know they did a TV show

does this series even need a 3rd? First one was a solid albeit mindless action flick. Entertaining enough

#2 was a huge piece of shite. I forgotten much of the plot until I just went and wiki'd it, forgot about him kidnapping the president

Its a give and take in film. Yes the director has creative control, yes the studio will tell him to make changes they see fit.

Here's the thing, though. They don't have to drag any of that political baggage into this movie. Just do an historical adventure film, it's been done a million times before. Follow the tried and true formulas of the genre and make a good movie. There doesn't need to be any exploration of the modern political climate. Just fricking find Ben Franklin's underwear or some shite. Spend some time in Philly, eat a cheesesteak. Jet off to Paris looking for Ben's whores and the missing DNA. Fly a kite with a key in a storm to power the next puzzle. How hard can this be?

If by "political baggage" you mean them having to say "Trump bad" "trans people/immigrants good" or something along those lines then I absolutely agree. I just don't think the director is saying that necessarily.

If the story ends up with Nick Cage and an illegal immigrant trying to find Ellen Page's missing tits or something then sure, I'll be right there with y'all not watching.

They have to change the name of the movie to National Treasures. But then if people found out a movie called National Treasures was actually about tits everyone would assume they were Sydney Sweeney's.

The scene you posted said nothing like that. It talked about a lost city of gold and rediscovering a forgotten culture. The word stolen was never mentioned. And the whole "don't even act like it wouldn't happen" comment is dumb. This is a common theme on here where a poster ascribes some invented comment, action or reaction to another poster, thinking it somehow bolsters whatever argument they're trying to make. Don't speak for other people and don't pretend you know how other people will act. Speak for yourself only.

Though it may seem easy to us, you're talking about people that can't even determine which bathroom they want to take a shite in...

don't remember politics playing much of a role in the first two

Not reading every page of dumb, but isn't the second Nation Treasure film, released 20 years ago, about the Confederacy coming back?

This is a scene from the first movie that he directed and noone was making tigerdroppings threads crying about it being too political

That's because there was nothing political in that scene.

What are you talking about? Because he mentions "greatest native american treasure." You think that's some political stance that people overlooked?

The City of Gold is literally a mythical ancient city built by Native Americans.

The thing people are worrying about is not that scene, it's the modern version of that scene where he would have to discover the city of gold and return it and all of it's land to it's ancient owners or some such political nonsense. THAT'S what the modern political version of NT would espouse.

What? The first came out in 2004. The second came out in 2007.

Learn? There's nothing to learn, because these people make movies for one reason: to push an agenda. They don't care if it makes money, because the message is what's important. He gets paid regardless, so why should he care if it sells?

Link?

This is grade a projection coming from people that use Reddit, Twitter, Facebook and any other platform as an echo chamber to endlessly air their grievances about "muh evil wytppl" and "muh cultural appropriation" and "muh colonization."

Literally, if that line was released in a film today, you guys would blow the internet up screaming about the dreaded "white savior trope."

Where are these imaginary fragile leftists blowing up tigerdroppings movie/tv board?

Its only the maga crowd that does this. Look at OP post history, 7 out of his last 10 created topics are on the poli board, then he creates this political thread on the movie board. Find a leftist movie/tv board thread on the front page of this board... U cant. Because threads like this are always maga folks crying.

Well, you're in here, gleefully posting some scene that mentions lost treasure and cultures, fantasizing about how conservatives would bitch about it today. Even though the scene had nothing in it that was questionable. Seems like you should look in the mirror for fragility.

That's irrelevant. You complained about maga folks crying, but you came in here earlier to cry about imaginary maga threads that don't exist about a movie scene that wasn't objectionable at all.

Its pretty relevant that every political thread on the movie/tv board is created by maga worshippers.

Means that if they stopped making them there wouldnt be a single one. Instead we get them daily.

What is it with all of the name-calling on here the past couple of days? Good Lord. Boy? Really? And retard for good measure. Relax. You posted a movie scene, crying about maga threads that don't exist. The problem exists only in your head.

You know when threads like this don't get started? When Hollywood creatives stop running their mouths about their own politics and pushing those politics into every thing they create.

"How dare you magas talk about the stuff someone else said?"
Who the frick are you to gatekeep what's discussed? Self-righteous prick.
