Yeah, that claim is dead on arrival as there are tons of movies/shows that don't get criticized for anything in the political realm. The producers accomplish this by.........wait for it....... not making their show political.

why not try waiting until the film comes out to complain about the political messaging you think it is pushing? you would think people woulda learned after the Odyssey not to believe the worst of everything based off a quote or casting choice

So the director can be nobody else can?

Even when Hollywood makes a movie that doesn't pertain to modern day politics, they try to make a political statement in every other movie. Is there anything else they are interested in or do political proxy wars consume their entire life?

Bruh. These people have politics on their mind 24/7. Theres nothing to argue about. Its fine, but should just stay on the poli board if they only care to discuss politics.

They didnt come here to discuss National Treasure 3

You say this,

But a large portion of the entertainment industry, ie most of it, in its modern form is not built to entertain, but to indoctrinate kids. To push certain moral and political principles in certain ways.

There is no reason to show or view any sort of sexuality in sub-13 entertainment t, yet it's always there.

And that is a fact. There is absolutely no ability to deny that.

So you say that "politics" is on the mind of anyone pointing out certaing things, while ignoring the enormous amount of moral, sexual, and political posturing that goes on in childrens entertainment. Go watch the Jetsons then watch anything made in the last 10 years for kids. The difference is incredibly stark.

Ok. Wouldnt this fall under political talk tho.

Like the director didnt come on movie/tv board and start talking about politics in movies. He did an interview, someone asked him about politics, and stout posted it on movie/tv.

If directors were coming on the movie/tv board and posting about politics i would tell them they were on the wrong board as well.

Its not the directors bringing political stuff to the movie/tv board. They get asked about political stuff and they answer. That part of the interview fits in "poli talk"

No, they’re bringing it to movies and tv shows.

What gets discussed here again?

I remember when it used to be subtle jabs at the power structure as a whole instead of one sided propaganda. That was much better but it was before the writing talent went down the tubes.

This thread isnt about a movie. Its about a political interview question answered by a director of a movie.

If someone asks lane kiffin how he approaches politics when recruiting for lsu, that isnt a sports question, thats a political question.

Some of yall want politics to control everything you do in life. Most of us dont. You persevere through politics and be your own person and form ur own opinion rather than attacking everyone that does anything in life (such as make national treasure movies or coach football) because you perceive it as a slight against your beliefs.

Snowflakes everywhere. Just accept not everyone is gonna agree with you on every subject . Get over it. Enjoy what u enjoy. If u wanna watch something made by someone from an opposing view, good on you. If you don't. Thats fine as well. Just dont act like it shouldnt be allowed to be made.

Of course it is. It's right there in the title.

No, we'd rather it be absent in our entertainment. I would, anyway, I can't speak for everybody.

so in the same thread people are bitching about people forcing their beliefs into everything you say they are ashamed of them?

nobody likes to listen to other people talk about their beliefs. there are a lot of people that care about their own beliefs so much that they think others give a frick. news flash, noone does. enjoy your beliefs. just dont preach to me about them. I don't even care about my own beliefs strongly, much less yours or this directors.

a lot of people in hollywood are proud of their beliefs. they are all hypocrites. ignore them. it's just talk. they all have skeletons in their closet and we all know it.

Take your double speak and lies elsewhere. That post I laughed at was one of the most serpentine things I’ve ever read on any board.

The purposes or intent of a film, don't fit under general talk about film? How does that make sense.

Like the director didnt come on movie/tv board and start talking about politics in movies. He did an interview, someone asked him about politics, and stout posted it on movie/tv.

A director coming on the board and just talking about the right vs the left, and about whatever bill in Congress, etc., of course that would be inappropriate.

A director coming on the board and saying, "I make films that are buiult to antagonize capitalists, and here's how," they he gets into his methods, meanings, etc. - would very much be on topic. Then we can debate whether or not he succeeds in whatever he set out to do based on his film. And whether that enterprise was a "good" film or not, etrc. That would be relevant.

I still think your perceptions and blame are misdirected. You should be asking directors and Hollywood to make their less divisive and political, not to kill the talk about their currently divisive and political filmmaking.

What you are asking is for is to allow Hollywood to just make and push whatever content they want and anyone that disagrees should just shut up about it.

Not super fair.
