I know they cut the story in half compared to the original. But I had expected them to add more details with the extra time they had since they spread it out over two films. I was intrigued but felt like we didn’t get good character development or motives to support a story that sucked you in. The visuals were extremely immersive, but everything else felt a little empty.

Dune was a gorgeous other-worldly spectacle.

Spiderman NWH was deliciously satisfying entertainment.

Old Henry was the best Western I've seen since Unforgiven/Tombstone. He was an instant classic badass.

I can't choose. They are all so different, but equally enjoyable/memorable.

I really need to watch this one. A high school friend was the cinematographer and has been getting a lot of praise.

1. No Time to Die
2. Quiet Place 2
3. Halloween Kills
4. Dune
5. No way home ( good movie but not even close to being the best Spiderman man ever. The first hour and a half blah the last hour fantastic) but by far the best Jon Watts Spiderman man movie.

Halloween Kills

Halloween Kills, but with the mob done non-ironically. On a long enough time line, everyone in Haddonfield, Illinois will die when Michael Myers is on the loose. So why not go all mob violence to stop him?

Liking the love for CODA since I worked on it and really took the job because of the stellar script.

Still need to see Old Henry, The Rescue and Spider Man though. Editing post for bookmark.

Toss up of Ghostbusters Afterlife or Spider man for favorite movie.
Jungle Cruise for best experience….took my 4 year old grandson to his first movie, just him and I. Had a blast.

was a really good job ... summer in Gloucester, MA is not the worst place to be. I'm hoping for more traction and an academy nom, which i think it will get.

Dune was probably the best film experience I had in 2021, how about you?

I liked Dune also.

I didn't watch too many films. Hollywood is unoriginal and boring at its best and disgustingly woke in its current state.

Says somebody that watched a movie based on a 1965 Book ….

The Oscar best pic noms probables are a wide range of material … none of which are “woke”. From Belfast to Coda to Licorice Pizza there are some interesting, original films out there. Not to mention The Rescue, Julia and the Cousteau documentaries. Lots of good options out there if one is willing to go past what happens to stream on your current subscriptions

It's possible, that Dune was the film I enjoyed the most as well as being recycled material.

Take a chill pill Streisand.

Worst movie of 2021….Spencer. Holy shite I’d rather gargle razor blades while sitting in a vat of dog shite then watch that movie again. The acting, direction, and story were all horrible. Even my wife hated it and she love “The Crown”.

Maybe not the best movie, but Free Guy was a refreshingly creative and unique story. Very well done and is overlooked.

Since this thread started, I've watched some more noted movies:

CODA
Nightmare Alley
The Power of the Dog
Spider-Man
Tick, Tick... Boom!
The 355
King Richard
Torn (documentary)
Licorice Pizza
Being the Ricardos
The King's Man
The Worst Person in the World (Norwegian, on lists of best foreign films)

I thought Andrew Garfield did an amazing job in Tick Tick Boom!, as well as a good job in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

I liked King Richard a lot more than I expected, although they seemingly went overboard with the "he's annoying but he's such a savvy, wise sage" characterization of Richard Williams.

I liked Being the Ricardos a lot, and JK Simmons as William Frawley was awesome.
