It's so true. I still call a couple of my friends from that age on a regular basis even though we haven't seen each other in probably 15 or 20 years. My family moved the summer after the 3rd grade and the summer after my freshman year in high school. Those guys are the ones I was around from the 4th grade through the 9th grade. They're the guys I grew up with.

I'll add the first Halloween. My dad's a huge horror fan so I watched a lot of horror flicks growing up. I was very young when I first watched Halloween and it's a film that just stuck with me. It scared the crap out of me. That theme song and the character of Michael Myers is something I just couldn't get out of my mind.

Requiem is the first that comes to mind

I will never forget that music and the quick cuts of the needle, eyes, etc they use during the drug using scenes

Interstellar because I'm fascinated by what's out there in space

Gone Baby Gone is one another poster mentioned and I just saw it recently. Definitely makes you question morals, rights vs wrong

Probably Saving Private Ryan, but for a movie that hasn't been thrown out yet I'll say Short Term 12. Fantastic movie starring Brie Larson that's a Netflix hidden gem. Its got some heavy parts but its a great film.

The opening scene of Saving Private Ryan, because you know real men actually went through that.

Although I could probably think of some more profound, Garden State was a good one that quickly came to mind. Need to rewatch that.

Life of Pi.

Into the Wild & The Pianist both stuck with me for quite awhile. The others mentioned as well like Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List obviously.

Another mention - Generation War on Netflix left me thinking for weeks after seeing it. It's such a great mini series.

I watched both Requiem for a Dream and Broken Vessels in my late teenage years... Not saying I would have ever done heroin if I didn't see those movies, but those movies definitely told me to stay far away from that shite

You know this reads like the plot of the book "It" right? If you ever see a clown, run like hell.

Requiem for a Dream. No movie has impacted me quite like that one....and I've never been a drug user. The last 20 minutes of that movie are so damn uncomfortable.
