The Greasy Strangler. It’s on prime. I beg someone to watch it so we can discuss how awesome it is.

I saw Greasy Strangler when it came out. Great movie. I think of it as more of a comedy though.

The Last House on the Left.

I can’t imagine seeing this in 1972. Must’ve been seriously bizarre and disturbing.

Watched Hell House, LLC last night. It was pretty solid. Not super "messed up," but felt like it deserved a mention in here.

It's found footage though, so if that's not your thing you may not enjoy it. But it was fairly creepy and decently made.

It's a little predictable, but not in the worst way really. Obviously it's in the same vein of something like The Houses October Built, if you've seen that, but it's a better movie and better-executed than that one.

As with most movies like this one, the worst part is the ending, but it's still not bad and doesn't ruin the movie.

One of my biggest gripes with horror movies (especially supernatural or religious ones) is how they end. There are great horror movies that were ruined by the endings (The Devil Inside is my best example of that), and this one isn't like that.

Sinister

nailing the ending changes a movie from scary movie to horror movie, imho

That is my other go-to example. That was an awesome movie, and then the stupid arse ending happened and it went from awesome to just decent (since the ride to the ending is still great).

I disagree, but get what you mean though.

That one was not bad. I didn't like the ending, as I remember it being relatively confusing when I saw it. But it's not like it was just a stupid ending like ones we've mentioned. But tHOB was just decent for me...I wasn't hooked on it really. This one (HH,LLC) at least has some legit creepy moments in it that gave me goose bumps a couple times. If you watch it, post back in here (or start a thread about it). Interested to see what you think about it.

In a different life I worked in film post-production. We received A Serbian Film to work on, and when my colleagues saw what it was they called in our boss, who took a look and called the police, who came and confiscated everything. They had to finish the post in, I'm pretty sure, Budapest. For obvious reasons, our company - and my colleagues - didn't want to see their name in the credits.

Years later I watched the uncut version in the net. It didn't freak me out, but I didn't feel like having sex for a while. Aside from the obviously extreme subject matter, it was a very well-made film. Cinematography, editing, sound, and acting were all top-notch. I saw an interview with the director, and he said it was a symbol of life in Serbia at the time. It represented the rape of the citizens of Serbia by the state from birth until death. And that pretty much sums up the film.
