Where she's going to have trouble is if this movie is the stinker we're getting from early reviews.
I just read that the embargo isn't up until Wednesday. That's really late for reviews, and usually a bad sign

The idea of an actor reading and responding all of the random comments iinternet s really stupid. No matter what your profession that doesn't work. Not even if you are a local business owner dealing with nasty customers.
There's also a strong possibility of the people commenting either not being people or not being the people they claim to be. There are trolls. There are fakers attempting to garner sympathy for the people they attack and there are just random angry people more interested in insults than real debate or commentary Nothing about reading and responding the online comments makes sense.

Commenting strictly on her looks:
Do I think she's drop dead gorgeous? No
Do I think she's a little funny looking? Sure
Do I think she's ugly? No
This is from the Supergirl premiere:

Ain't no fixing that face

You have to wonder how small someone's life is, that they would take the time and energy to create this thread (with a quote and link) in order to feel that they have some minute additional power to affect some stranger's success.

She's like the two face from Seinfeld. I have seen pictures where she looks good and others where she looks awful. Keeping her mouth closed so you don't see the teeth probably helps.

Part of the world of acting is your appearance
She wouldn't be playing Supergirl if she wasn't a thin blonde.
When you look at her pictures when talking she becomes less attractive because of her emotional engagement and micro expressions IMO. If she was really happy and pleased to be talking to her audience that enthusiasm is infectious and appealing.
She's doing weird stuff with her face in the action sequences which is something else she could try to fix. Is she as beautiful as Charlize Theron? No. But I think some of it is her negative emotional frame

This board often cheers for movies to fail rather than to do well.
It's often the same people but more for the DC movies.
I'll see it this weekend regardless.

yes, the person with the small life is not the Hollywood star who feels entitled and compelled to offer commentary on average people's lives and opinions, it's the random internet movie fan who gets tired of being talked down to.

so your position is that she isn’t entitled to comment about comments about herself?
Posted on 6/22/26 at 9:40 am to Sam Quint
even IF she felt that she had to reply, which is stupid in itself, why not just leave it at the first comment?
that's a pretty perfect response actually. just say that, and move on if you absolutely had to say something.
there was absolutely no reason to press the issue and call outs dads and christians as the right kind of people to piss off. there is zero justification for it, no matter how much a handful of you insist on white knighting for her.

Alcock has also addressed criticism surrounding her casting, saying she is largely unbothered by negative comments online, particularly those coming from anonymous or troll accounts.

my position is that she should be above it.

Supergirl was a stupid idea from its very conception. Much like Batgirl.
Posted on 6/22/26 at 9:55 am to Fewer Kilometers
And yet, you feel compelled to reply to it, so that would likely make you even smaller, no?

it's common for people that have nothing going on in their own lives to try to manufacture wins over stupid shite

Alcock added that she is comfortable with the reaction if it means "p-ssing the right kind of people off."
She's very unattractive. Very unattractive actresses can't get away with making these sorts of gaffes.
