A little tip for you, since you are the anointed board police officer, and feel compelled to comment again and again: if you have an issue with what I've posted, simply remove yourself from the thread. No one placed a gun to your head and forced you to spout your holier than thou BS.
"I'm sorry I had a fight in your Black Panther party."

Man, sounds pretty rough for you to have to deal with. Being forced to read yet another thread on it. If I were you, I'd just leave the board.

I have absolutely seen a lot of comments about her appearance
She's playing an iconic character with an iconic look. Comments about her appearance are part of the deal.

even a fake image of her one of which that's posted in this thread.
So what?

You're just assuming because she's on the opposite political side the comments aren't actually hateful.
No, she's assuming. If she can't handle comments from online trolls, she's in the wrong business.

Criticisms of both Gunn's take on Superman and the DC world and her, outside of her appearance OUTSIDE of her personally, are fair game. They are taking chances by taking established properties and messing with them, that's their problem for their choices. You can't just muck around with established things and not expect reaction.
Now, I agree a lot of comments go beyond that, but the problem is then framing ALL of the backlash as "conservative outrage." Gunn's release, so far, has been underwhelming, so critique is warranted, and this doesn't look like it's going to fix that direction.
She's just doing what the troll accounts do.... but if those troll accounts are actually "fake" or "fake christians," then she's just raging against conservatives and christians and is then open to other forms of critique.

Oh contrare
It seems pretty rough for you to have to deal with this actress offending your precious little feelings
Im sure you'll survive though.

if Milly wants a job without anyone commenting on her looks, she shouldnt have become an actress
see how that works

Starting thread after thread against a minor star like Milly Alcock is just fricking ridiculous.
She's a minor star but this isn't a minor movie. And apparently they're in the middle of a big publicity tour, which is why she's out talking to begin with, so you're surprised that they're getting......publicity? It's ridiculous that people are talking about a movie that the producers are actively trying to get them to talk about on a forum that's titled "Movie/TV Board"?

This thread is not about the movie, it's about the actress...predictably.

Doesn't justify being a dick or creating fake images

Lol the frick you mean so what? It's literally a fake image floated around to attack her looks and you're shocked she isn't a fan of shite like that?

Assuming what? All she did was call out shitty people and you're here acting like she's attacking a whole group

Question for you or anybody who knows:
I know nothing about Supergirl outside of seeing the Slater movie whenever it came out. To the casual fan the trailers make this look like a Wolverine movie wearing Supergirl like a skin suit. Is Supergirl typically the drunk, reluctant anti-hero or is that what Gunn messed with?
Posted on 6/22/26 at 12:21 pm to Flats
From my understanding it's based of a certain comic run where she does start out going to red suns to get drunk and party due to her PTSD of what happened to Krypton

The actress who's out there talking about the movie and stubbing her toe a bit.
I'm not saying all of the comments are accurate (or fair) but Gunn's probably just happy people are talking about it, period. That's the entire goal of these appearances, is it not?

She was great in Mad Max

I don't know that I totally agree with this. I think how someone looks is very important to a role like Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, etc. My standards are so low for superhero movies at this point that I'm just glad they didn't race swap the role.

"Conservative outrage" has become a crutch for "we didn't make what the fans wanted so it must be the fans' fault!" I loved the Superman movie, but I'm not sure I'm really interested in a falling-down-drunk version of Supergirl. I'm honestly more interested in Lobo.

I think it's more likely that she's assuming that's who these troll accounts are. I don't believe she's actually looking at these profiles. Surely she doesn't have time for that.

It's based on an 8-issue miniseries from the early 2020s. Not what anyone would consider a "popular version" of the character by any stretch of the imagination.

I mean she's always going to get that. If she can't handle that, she's in the wrong profession. She needs some thicker skin.
Also, what do you mean by "fake image?" She's not attractive. I don't think people have to make fake images to show that.

Here, I'll make it easier for you. This is what she's assuming:
quote:
Dad of four, Christian
That definitely isn't representative of the people trolling her. She's assuming.

Fake image, which one? While what was posted in the thread is shite quality, the shot beneath her while she’s protecting the girl is 100% from the trailer
And she looks like will poulter with the smushed face in it

I agree with this assessment of her looks. Not gorgeous, but kind of uniquely cute that can look sometimes good and sometimes meh. I admittedly like girls with a unique look though, and I can see where others might not find her attractive. As far as her comments, knowing the climate of social media and media in general running with comments like these nowadays, I would be as generic as possible with my comments when asked any questions like this if it were me. Just a simple, “well everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I respect their right to that opinion, but I hope people from all walks of life come to see the movie because it’s a movie everyone can enjoy.” I’d repeat that in every interview. It may be boring, but at least you know for sure you wouldn’t be pissing anyone off.
