The entire message of Star Wars was awaiting the 'chosen one', who would effectively combat Palpatines control of the dark side. And we have 8 movies telling us that the Skywalker family was the key. Then in the 9th movie we are slapped in the face with a Palpatine being that key
Why even waste the time and energy on the Skywalker family?
* Shmi was a slave and brutalized by Tuskens
* Anakin was seduced to the dark side by Palpatine
* Padme died giving birth. Killed by a Skywalker
* Vader failed to kill Palpatine, and eventually killed by him
* Leia was rarely a force user
* Luke ran away and hid. Then died at the hand of a Skywalker
* Kylo got his arse kicked by 2 Palpatines
In the end, their stories could have been played by any number of characters, because none of them brought balance to the force

Anakin brought balance to the force… two remaining Jedi, two remaining Sith.
“Balance” didn’t mean what the Jedi Council thought it did.

There are already multiple versions of Vader.
We have Vader from Star Wars, Empire and Jedi.
Then we have "The Whiny arse Punk Who Thinks He is Darth Vader, But is, in Fact, Not" from the prequels and all the subsequent inserts to terrible television programs.

There's an insane amount of Star Wars source material spanning thousands of years in that universe that's never even been remotely touched in any films or TV series. And yet this dumb arse would rather reboot an all-time classic instead of tackling any new storylines set at different times in the same universe. frick Hollywood. Can't come up with original ideas, so lets just put a modern touch (aka frick up) existing classics.
