Probably get a woman director and try to get the positive press DC got for Wonder Woman

they did the origin story on Agent Carter, sort of.

She definitely needs another character to be with her, and even then, it's not going to do very well, even if it's a great story. Couldn't see it making much more than half a billion. I'll go see it though. It needs to be dark, not fun.
Could do something with Samuel L Fury.

I'd watch about anything if it meant ScarJo parading around in that tight outfit of hers.

Agreed, the story would have to be really good. And it would likely be dark. Maybe start with a double cross of old man Stark and thier assassination with the Winter Solidier, then WS and Hawkeye hunting her down and Hawkeye saving her at the end against Fury’s orders.

SJ can't carry a movie by herself. I hate to say it, but she isn't a draw...which is why the movie will have lots and lots of iron man and/or captain america

If they were smart they'd double down and have Wasp, Sif, and Ayo as her superhero guest stars.

Look at Ghost in the Shell live action film with SJ

Umm... it was a POS and no actress or actor could have changed that. That's why it bombed.

She starred in Lucy which made $460 million on a $40 million budget.

They could easy make this flick for $100 million or less and still get a great return even if it only makes in the $400 million range.

Isn't her origin story the plot of the new Jennifer Lawrence movie?

They could go back and do an origin story which is probably what they should have done when they were doing same for Iron Man and Cap America.

Black Widow is a side character for a reason in the other movies.
Black Widow has a badass comic book presence, but she is nothing like SJ’s character.

SJ can’t carry the character in a stand-alone. She is too “soft”.

I'm thinking a team up with Hawkeye.

Would have to be a flashback film since he's going to die in Infinity War.

this is a big ol meh for me. She is the worst character in the MCU to me and does nothing to move the excitement meter.

Hawkeye is the worst character IMO in the MCU at least SJ is hot. They could make a decent movie but yea they'd need a cameo of one of the others.

IMHO, the best way to do a Black Widow film is to remember that Natasha Romanoff isn't the only graduate of the Red Room.

If you add Dottie Underwood, Yelena Bolova, Monica Chang (Nick Fury's ex wife), Jessica Drew, etc. you can make a very interesting film.

If a new report is to be believed, Marvel Studios has high hopes for Black Widow (which may or may not actually be a female-led team-up movie). Apparently, Scarlett Johansson looks set to score a $25 million payday to reprise the role of Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers 4 and the belief is that this movie could end up being even bigger than Wonder Woman.

This movie would make Johansson the highest paid actress in Hollywood and if the movie passes $900 million worldwide (which is a stretch unless it really does use characters like Valkyrie and Captain Marvel), she'll score a nice little bonus as well. Wonder Woman made a total of $821 million at the worldwide box office last year so the number is feasible but it depends on a number of factors.

Marvel Studios’ Black Widow stand-alone movie has its director.

Cate Shortland, the Australian filmmaker perhaps best known for the Nazi drama Lore, has signed on to helm Black Widow, Marvel’s action-adventure project that will star Scarlett Johansson.

The move caps off a search that lasted over half a year as the studio met with over 70 directors in order to find its ideal candidate. A female filmmaker was the priority even as the search stalled at one point and the studio looked at male helmers.

The hunt narrowed in June with Amma Asante (Belle, A United Kingdom) and Maggie Betts (Novitiate) being the finalists alongside Shortland. Melanie Laurent (Galveston) and Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry) were also in the next-to-final mix.

Shortland, who does not have agency representation, had a fan in Johansson, who pushed for the helmer. The actress admired Shortland’s handling of the female lead in Lore, a critically acclaimed 2012 drama that tells of a young woman who leads her siblings through Germany as the Allied forces roll in. Shortland's most recent film was Berlin Syndrome, a 2017 thriller that stars Teresa Palmer.

Jac Schaeffer wrote the most recent draft for Black Widow. She also wrote the upcoming female-centric remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which was formerly titled Nasty Women and is now called The Hustle.

Johansson’s Black Widow is reportedly set before the events of the first Avengers movie and sees the actress reprise the role of the Russian spy turned superheroine. The movie will be Marvel’s second female-focused film after Captain Marvel, which is set to open March 8, 2019.

Shocker. So how will this feminist garbage compare to the other feminist movies?

We've got

Star Wars: TLJ
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (Title change)

Black Widow

This feels like even a worse idea than the Han Solo movie which no one wanted either.

The hollywood bubble is real, so real.

Could you melt any harder? They ended up looking at both men and women. Over 70 directors were checked.

Are you really going cry about a movie that will end up being essentially a cross between Jason Bourne and Atomic Blonde?
