I think it was always going to feel very disappointing picking up the OT 40 years later.
I also think it makes sense that the best Disney properties have been unrelated to the original characters.

Took the kids to see a matinee today and it was a very fun summer popcorn movie. We all really enjoyed it
I was surprised how fast it went and the action. Loved the Blade style soundtrack.
It was exactly what I thought it would be. No more no less

I'm not familiar with this character but I think this guy neatly summarized the present behaviors of Disney and the different groups of Star Wars fans.
It does seem explanatory for the last ten years under Disney

I saw it last night. It was fun, and had some neat easter eggs. I liked seeing the Int-4 and Amani aliens. The battle droids all looked awesome.

Ryan "Oh yeah, he has Force powers!"
Other Ryan "Only in scenes that I decide that he does"
Accurate

“Toxic” newspeak propaganda term. It has no real meaning

Newspeak is always meant as the opposite of what it is right. If you don’t consume slop which is toxic you’re labeled as toxic. It’s a tactically used term

I agree with some of what he said. They are so many old school fanboys that despise anything Disney that already know they will hate anything they put out.

Of course there are “some” that have just written it off but you could say the same after the prequel trilogy. The point being it’s too small a number to even cause a ripple. Acting as if there’s this huge number of pre Disney fans that hate anything Disney Star Wars makes was disproven with Andor, TFA and Rouge One. The reason Disney Star Wars has failed is because they make shite.

Toxic = woke
