he was more powerful than a human and that could cause problems but it's not like he hated the outside world. he was curious about it, that's all. he wanted to see where he came from. to do that, he had to kill a few people. that doesn't make him evil in my book.

i think the new timeline wasnt from any specific vantage point. i think they were each surrounded by the people they spent the best part of their life with.

I do think we get more of a glimpse of Jacks part just because he has always been the main character.

on Juliet.

i dont think she ever said it worked in regards to the bomb working... we assumed that but last night, Juliets last words on island were also her last words to Sawyer in the break room. She said it worked in regards to the candy bar being dropped.

I'm coming from the NJP(not jack's perspective) team on this little nugget. In other words, I believe it was everyone coming to grips with their deaths. It took all of them to realize they were dead. I can see both perspectives, but having Desmond travel all over the place to get EVERYONE to realize the truth really is a big deal to me and goes against the JP team's argument IMO. I say all that to say....

Anthony Cooper was a vegetable in purgatory. I believe that AC will forever have to live his life as a vegetable and that he can never "wake up" from this nightmare. I like that ending for him. Bastard.

You all aren't the only ones. I've already said that they could have done so much more and that season 6 was a cram session. shite if they would have chosen someone else to play Faraday's part they could have shot 3 more episodes. That guy takes 20 minutes to spit out 3 sentences.

The difference is that some of us don't let it get in the way of appreciating the show.

I think that you and Myth are in a different category. You both appreciate the show although some minor shite is getting to you, which I somewhat understand.

SFP just hates on shite for the sake of doing it.

In terms of this argument, Here's my thoughts...

quote:

The other people in the alternate reality were not "there" except for maybe Farraday and Eloise.

The purgatory was "only for" the Losties and their relations because they were important to each other.

It wasn't a purgatory for everyone else who died in the world.

It was an "exclusive" purgatory. "They" made it.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Pre-smokey, MIB may have been okay. But smokey was evil and the whole point of the show was that smokey needed to be contained on Island or else....

Whatever that "else" is was bad shite. Either the world ended or the afterlife did.

I'm talking about the the accusations of being repetitive, not the general critiques of Lost. I know other people critique it as well. This time you're jumping in to an argument a little late Cokes accused me of being repetitive earlier.

Totally agree.

He does have some solid points thought.

Nope, never said that. I also specifically said Myth wasn't in the fold. It was you and SFP. Others have done it, but the two of you stood out. That's all I ever said.

I mean in this current discussion (timeline, if you will). Not in the repetitive shite...that's been gone for a decent time. At least seemingly.

Yeah but isn't that the definition for SFP?

And yes some of your comments about me were out of line.

Especially since those comments were based on your disdain for me over calling the Lou Holtz guy a douchebag when you didn't realize he insulted me first by saying I should go watch Sesame Street.

As explained in the Finale, The MIB was going to have to destroy the light to leave. If he does that, the immortality (life spark) of the soul ceases.

Therefore, everyone dies.

then essentially you could have skipped from about season 2 until the finale and been fulfilled

This seems to be your recurring point. But I disagree. The journey over all 6 seasons, not just the first two is what made people so attached to these characters. After Season 2, its possible I couldn't have really given a shite about the characters at that point. But 4 years later, I've become much more invested in their stories.

Just because they don't explain every mystery, doesn't mean the stories of them were a waste.

I agree with that. Wasn't it specifically stated last night (by Christian??) that "they" had created it? I saw it as a way for them to kinda all move on together, and once Jack finally came to his realization in the alt timeline, he was the last one, which is why they were all waiting on him at the church.

It was basically a nice way to end the show with all the main players being involved where it actually made sense.

I think there is going to be an enhanced version of The End on ABC on Saturday night at 8 EST. Maybe it will answer some of these questions.

Rather than say an alternate universe created when they exploded the hydrogen bomb at the end of season 5?
