I'd go with Lady Gaga as Ursula. the actress doesn't have to be fat to play the role. She'd nail those particular vocal parts as well.

I’m over it and came to grips a while back that sooner or later Hollywood is going to remake every white movie with black actors

I thought the love interest in Spider-Man was supposed to play her.
Regardless, Rebel Wilson is a worse choice to play Ursula. Ariel is without question the worst of the Disney princesses (save for her voice). But Ursula is very iconic, and Rebel Wilson won’t be able to pull her off.
This will be controversial, but personally I think they should have given Nathan Lane the role. Ursula was based off of drag queens, and we know Lane can do that. I think he would have killed as Ursula. But this would never happen, because these days they’d accuse Disney of being transphobic. As for reference, here is the drag queen Ursula was mostly based off.

Melissa McCarthy is just obnoxious. Ursula needs some subtly but can break out in hysterics on a dime. I agree with the other poster here that Gaga would be a better choice, although I think Lane is pitch perfect casting.
