Let’s talk Varys for a minute

First off I made some predictions about the end of the show awhile back. Many of them were wrong. My bad.
Back to Varys: This is a man that explicitly told Ned he was mad for approaching Cersei with information that culminated in Ned’s demise. But now Varys is just chilling in Dragonstone after advocating treason to the hand of the Queen, and after trying to turn Jon against her. Did he forget the game or did he make a bad assumption?
Seems like he would have been smarter than that.

No ones talking about the very beginning when the Spider was talking to his Little Bird. I think he was trying to poison Dany, but she wouldn’t eat so he was unsuccessful. This leads to his desperation and to him directly acting treasonous right in front of Jon and Tyrion. He knew all was lost

Writers needed him to die fast...

Not a lot of options at this point. But one would think getting the frick out might have been better.

It was Littlefinger all over again. Just awful.

Varys would never be so foolish. They just needed to kill him off

The needed more screen time for the dragon pointlessly burning the city, as if we didn't get it the first 10 minutes.

Varys went out just as shitty as a lot of others.
I dont even know why Tyrion betrayed him in the first place.
D&D needed Varys to die, so I guess they stretched things but it didnt make any sense to me.

He fundamentally gave up once when Melisandre told him that his destiny was to die in Westoros (and presumably soon). He saw the handwriting on the wall.

Ned should have been smarter, their deaths are similar. Varys wanted to protect the relm at all costs and if he had left that wouldn't be possible. He had one hail mary left with Jon to prevent what he knew Dany was going to do. He needed to be there.

He must have gone mad!
Mad Eunuch sold out by the Mad Hand to be killed by the Mad Queen!

I enjoyed tonight’s episode but Varys, Tyrion, and Jon making dumb decision after decision is hard to swallow.

The first thing I thought of was him trying to poison her

I wonder who Varys was writing to?
If it was the The Weekly Red Keep then the secrets still safe. Off topic but Brann’s a lazy little fricker.

The him poisoning her isn't a theory, it was pretty fricking obvious.
Unless he was going to greatly reward the child for the risk of delivering a piping hot meal

He was cast aside for other storylines.
But the only logical explanation for his actions were that he wanted Jon to see first hand why Dany wasn’t fit to rule.
Compound that with what varys thought was the inevitable burning rubble of king’s landing.
And you have a sacrifice to further ensure Jon tries to take the throne (or have Sansa come steal it after Jon dispatches Dany).

They massacred the Varys plot line, that character would never do what he did in the show
.
DnD ran out of options.

For how many seasons were you asking yourself “when is this fricker going to die?”. They finally do it and it wasn’t right or it was rushed?
Come on man
