I bought into the whole Blackfyre connection with him being Illyrio's brother in law and Faegon being his nephew.

I wasn't sure how they'd translate that to the show, since it has no such rebellion or Faegon. And this is what they came up with.

I thought maybe he'd be revealed to have destroyed every king he worked for because he hates monarchy or something, but nope. Just clumsily try to subvert the queen and get fried. Seeya Varys.

I dont Get people being upset at littlefinger’s death

He thought he had a plan and got played because he underestimated His opponents.

He’s a schemer and schemers wall a fine line. It’s only a matter of time before they slip up.

For the so called “master of whisperers” he does talk a lot in a straightforward manner. I thought he’d be more secretive and sneaky with his plans.

No ones talking about the very beginning when the Spider was talking to his Little Bird. I think he was trying to poison Dany, but she wouldn’t eat so he was unsuccessful. This leads to his desperation and to him directly acting treasonous right in front of Jon and Tyrion. He knew all was lost

I told my wife as soon as that scene happened that he was trying to poison her. That’s why his little spider seemed scared and stared “her guards are watching me” and his reply was “the greatest risk come with the greatest rewards”.

The letter he burnt before he was killed was that a letter he received in return from whomever he sent that first letter to? Or was he writing another one and just decided to burn it?

I was trying to figure out if he had sent any letters before being killed. We saw him burning one, but who’s to say that he sent some out already?

He was writing one when his little bird came in and told him the queen wasn’t eating, and then a letter right before he was killed. Are you thinking it was the same letter? I just assumed he had sent the first one to somebody or The Citidel possibly?

Am I the only one who did a double take when the Mountain lost his helmet and thought "it's mutant Varys!"?

I didn't pick up ok this, but it makes sense. Otherwise why was he executed? For writing letters?

Varys has always been about the realm. He knew he would die, that’s what the taking the rings off thing was.

He was trying to do what was right, no matter the cost to him

Dany told him she’d kill him if he conspired behind her back

He did what she asked and told her he thought she was failing, and she ignored it. He had no choice

What was the significance of him taking off his rings when he heard the soldiers coming for him?

To let you know he knew he was a dead man, but he was doing what he thought was right

But now Varys is just chilling in Dragonstone after advocating treason to the hand of the Queen, and after trying to turn Jon against her. Did he forget the game or did he make a bad assumption?

A million people were fixing to be burned to a crisp. He didn't have time to play the game. If he truly was acting on behalf of the realm he did the best he could do. He tried to reason with the crazy bitch and she didn't listen. If he cared about the good of the realm this was really his best and only move even knowing that it might ultimately cost him his life.
