I think we'll at least get FaB 2 and a few more Dunk and Egg tales because they're easier to write. Maybe not another ASOIAF book, though. It's good in a way because everyone's stupid theories will never be disproven.
He stopped writing the 4th Dunk and Egg story to finish TWOW in 2013.
And a lot of Fire and Blood was cribbed from The World of Ice and Fire which was mostly written by the couple who run his fan club and site, Westeros.org.
So good luck with that theory.

He's said he's resumed the Dunk stories and F&B 2.
I'm not super concerned. It's been a great ride so far.

Of course he is, it’s the easy work.

Sadly none of it matters since it all leads to Bran.

And you believe him?
In May of last year he said he wasn't writing anymore Dunk and Egg until after Winds is finished. Soooooo he's not ever writing any more Dunk and Egg.

I really believe they followed martins plan to a T. That’s just the shitty ending he came up with so he doesn’t want to release the books because it will cement the fact that he’s a dumbass who couldn’t stick the landing

And you believe him?
But F&B and D&E are far easier to write than WoW. Having geeked out on it for many years now, I can appreciate the difficulty of resolving a story of such unbelievable complexity. The prequel stories, on the other hand, are already completed.

Glad your happy and not trying to argue, but what all is there to still geek out on?
Dunk and Egg is fantastic, I've read them twice now and it's such a fun story, but it's not done and you could read them in almost a day. Fire and Blood is just a boring encyclopedia... and incomplete. I mean I read it and didn't mind it but it's certainly not top tier fantasy. ASOIAF is obviously excellent but being incomplete knocks it down a good bit.
He is considered a top fantasy writer because he's still alive and a lot of people hold out hope/genuinely believe he will finish the stories. Once he passes away, he's just going to be a fantasy writer that couldn't finish any of his stories. Which really isn't that impressive. I know that sounds mean but it is what it is.
I think you're certainly in the minority here thinking that (if the number of pages for the final two books are indeed 1500+) getting about 60% of the total story/pages is a win/win. I personally could not give two shits about fan theories being right or wrong. I don't care to play things out like OML does and has every single characters story line plotted out in my mind because as we've already seen, they're wrong 99% of the time. You can go back and read the crackpot thread and see that. It was fun to talk about on here but if he dies and never finishes I'm certainly not going to think "Woo hoo, well at least my theory wasn't wrong!"
Sorry I just hate the guy so i rant

but what all is there to still geek out on?
That's just off the top of my head and doesn't even mention the numerous connections between the story and centuries of established folklore. Maybe none of those things interest you, but they do me and many others. Personally, I just enjoy dipping into the world. Closure would be nice, but I won't consider it a waste of time if we don't get it.
Plus, none of you bitches liked the Bran ending, so you probably won't like the book ending either, because I suspect they are the same.

I didn't like House of the Dragon, but I will admit, this looks pretty good. I'm going to have to re-read the book before this starts.

Those things were at one point fun to geek out on... when we thought there was going to be an ending. Most of the stuff is just useless to debate now that we know he's not going to finish.

It wouldn't be my top ending but I would %100 be fine if that was the book ending, because I would be very confident that GRRM would get there in a much much better way than the show did. And even if I was disappointed in the ending, a disappointing ending is much better than no ending. Plenty of books that I love had disappointing endings but the story as a whole/journey was great.

I've not read the D and E stories so I'm just basing my view on the trailer and it has a bit of "A Knight's Tale" vibe. It seems to be a little "light" than GOT or HOD so I'll watch it and hope it's a good show.

It's definitely less mature than the other two stories. I'm sure HBO can find a way to fit some nudity into the show, but the story of the Hedge Knight could be on regular television without cutting anything.

why do fans have to wait until january...its clearly ready to be released right now gatdamnit

Martin finished his books, then he saw the world shite on it when the TV show ran the play. So he’s just gonna die and let someone else publish it once he’s gone so he doesn’t have to hear it. Get his estate or whomever a great payday.

It’s spot on. frick that guy and his entire world. When the primary work isn’t completed for better or worse you’ve absolutely failed as an author.
