Wife and I haven’t been to the theater in a few years. Looked to see what was playing down the street.

4 recycled Superhero movies and 3 cartoons. When will this crap stop????

Only other one movie, a romcom, playing so I guess we’ll give it a shot. Are movies as we know it over?

Movies have become mind numbingly expensive to make and market. No one is willing to take risks, so the same formulaic crap gets churned out. The TV and video game markets have been infected with it for years.

Hollywood has been mostly dead or out of ideas for 15+ years or so. Superhero movies and remakes.

I saw the first 3. Don’t need to see a 90 year old Harrison Ford running around being a super hero.

He’s probably counting this a a “super hero” movie.

Friend,

Streaming has killed small budget movie access in the theater. I hate it because I love watching little known movies on the big screen with a room of strangers. Even worse is streaming movies are thrown in a giant mess of movies. There are so many cheaply made and terrible independent movies now it is nearly impossible for the everyday viewer to sort out. It is difficult finding quality small budget movies from 2015 onward. There is an overwhelming number of small budget movies, but 90% of the ones made in the last decade are little better than homemade movies. You can usually tell in the first three minutes at least. Many of them appear to be shot on a smart phone or entry level DSLR.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

People have whined about “liberal Hollywood” for decades longer than “woke” has existed as a term.

The one liners were funny and JLaw was a smokeshow as usual, but the plot was icky and awkward.

Another vote for the Indiana Jones movie. Pretty much action start to finish, and ties everything up neatly.

this entire premise is very strange. Y'all hate the options that are playing, and will begrudtingly see a movie you dont' want to, have no interest in, and know nothing about. Why? Becuase you've reached your time limit on the allowable amoutn of time you can go between theater visits so you MUST go see one?

How about...wait until a movie comes out that you want to see then go see it?

This is what we do which means that we go to the movies about once every 5-6 years.

RA’d to move to movie/tv board. If the guy wanting to drink a Budweiser has to go to food/drink, this should have to go, too.
