That's why the release it all at once method sucks. It gives a new show zero room to grow an audience via word of mouth.

Also...

Jupiter's Legacy Cancelled — But Netflix Has Already Ordered a Spinoff

Jupiter’s Legacy will be short-lived: Netflix has cancelled the eight-episode adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely’s graphic novels less than a month after the premiere of Season 1.

According to Deadline, however, the streamer is keeping the franchise alive via Supercrooks, a new super villain-themed series set in the Jupiter’s Legacy universe.

WTF?

So the numbers were not good enough for a second season but they were good enough for a spinoff?

I watched the trailer and could tell is was going to be trash, and this is coming from somebody that’s pretty easily entertained. The trailer just looked cheesy as all frick

Word is Netflix spent $200 million making it. Holy frick that's a shite ton of money for an 8 episode show that got canceled just a month after it's one season dropped.

So in order to make it on Netflix you have to either be insanely popular (Stranger Things, The Witcher, Cobra Kai) or absolute shite (13 Reasons, The Ranch, and 90% of their program). There’s no room for good.

The second list of shows you have can make 2 seasons of content in 1 year if you want for a fraction of the cost of the ones on the first list, which take much longer to produce new seasons as well.

I mean the ranch’s entire production budget was likely less than one episodes budget on Jupiter’s legacy. If you don’t crush it with those kind of numbers on the bottom line they you’ll get the axe pretty quickly.

There's no room for good at 200 mil for an 8 episode order.

Wow.

That escalated quickly.

I binged it last week and enjoyed it, but I could tell it wasnt going to get a second season.

The flashbacks reminded me of Lost so much but were also the most entertaining part of the show

I enjoyed the fight scenes but with that kinda of production cost you better have a bad arse show.

The costumes sucked. Cheesy costumes work in The Boys because they discuss how cheesy they are and how they're only for marketing purposes. In Jupiter's Legacy, they have cheesy costumes but they're dead serious about them.

Anywho, I might read the comics

honestly it's not that surprising, but it is disappointing that a show that had so much potential, so much budget, and big enough names behind it... ended up being a 1 season dumpster fire

its sad i am completely confused by whether i watched jupiters legacy or invincible. seems like the stories ran together so i'm trying to remember if the scene i'm remembering was in one or the other.

if it was good - Invincible
if it was dumb - Jupiter's Legacy

if it was in the past - Jupiter's Legacy, but at that point it's the only good part of JL

Wait until the Tolkienverse Series on Prime gets torn to shreds for costing $500 million and presumably being garbage

Let’s be honest. First season was a mess. The kid supers sucked. The flashbacks were far better than the “plot” in the future. The costumes were lame. The fight scenes were campy cheese. Just poor execution.
