Caught a good stream, and now I regret not seeing it on the big screen.

That was a damn good movie, absolutely didn't expect it to be the type of film it turned out to be. I see it's a Netflix distro, is it still going to be on Blu ray?

It went to straight to netflix outside of America. It is a studio production though.

I also really enjoyed it. The ending stuck with me for a few days.

I love the hypocrisy behind Hollywood calling everyone a racist and a sexist for not wanting a movie based on women and minorities when defending such shitty films as Ghostbusters 2016 and TLJ. Meanwhile you’ve got a good movie based around mostly minority women in STEM fields, and where is the Hollywood promotion? Oh they instead tar Natalie Portman for not being black enough: LINK

Bunch of hypocrites. Reason why Trump won #783

Thanks

This is definitely something I'd buy. Honestly didn't know how Netflix handles things; thought they might just put it up on their service and leave it at that.

Been awhile since I've looked for blu-rays outside of old favorites, and Marvel movies. I'd say Star Wars movies too, but that bridge has been burned. TLJ left a taste in my mouth similar to The Hobbit films, of which I only watched 1 in the theater.

And hopefully, the disc sale will throw a boost to the makers, they deserve it. The trailers and some of the reviews caught my eye, but it was out of the theaters before I got around to seeing it.

I don't think the marketing did it any favors, at first I was apprehensive about it. The first trailer I caught was in the theater while watching... Thor Ragnarok maybe? Maybe TLJ?
But it was shown, lumped in with trailers for A Wrinkle in Time and the high school girl's volleyball team flick. So my first reaction was "ok, 3 trailers, zero males so far. I might be the wrong market "
Boy, was that wrong.

The last 20 minutes or so was like being hypnotized in the theater, and it was awesome

lighthouse scene was one of the most visually stunning things we've seen for a long time.

I am pissed the article didn’t bother to meation that the books that released the racial information came out after the script for Annillihation was written and it was far in developed.

Not shocked, but still pissed.

I highly recommend the movie. It has the advantage of being worth thinking about.

So don't bother bringing people who want a movie where they can just turn off their brains because they will frustrate you in the theater and on the drive home.

I'm not sure what this means as far as the sound system you watched it on, but the sound effects and music, especially in the light house, were as spectacular as the visuals. If you didn't get to see it with big sound, you should do so.

Lol, the person I saw it with told me right before that he took acid before the movie at the theater. Needless to say, he really enjoyed it.

For the love of (insert preferred deity here) can you give it a rest and take that political bullshite to the poli board. I come here to read about entertainment. I'll venture over there to make you look like a buffoon later.

probably one of my favorite movies as of late. it's nice to get a change of pace and watch something original versus the mainstream money grabs.

without beating a dead horse, the visual effects were amazing! the lighthouse scene was awesome. I got a little lost in the prolonged "dance routine" NP and her copy were doing, but that's because I don't see the symbolism of it very well. I understand there was a deeper meaning to it, but just didn't know the specific meaning haha.

The scene when she was watching her husband do his final confessional was relieving and creepy at the same time. It was relieving in a sense how he just couldn't take it anymore so he was ridding himself of the torture. The creepiness was from him talking about his insides moving and then killing himself with a, what was it a flash grenade?. Of course right before that when he said "find Lena" and his copy walked out, I immediately turned into WWWTTTFFF! haha. I never read the book so I didn't anticipate anything.

Walking out of the theater, i was giddy. Ive been so jaded over movies that i was starting to worry id never feel the same about a modern movie as i did about the great sci fi 80s movies i grew up.

It was a great feeling.

i am waiting for the blu-ray. I didn't really like the book that much. I found it jumbled. Although I hear the book isn't really liek the movie at all.

It's a movie that sticks with you. I've been thinking about it for months afterwards. I'm not surprised by its box office. If anything, I'm shocked it did that much. It's hardly a popcorn-moving crowd pleaser.

It's one of the best movies I've ever seen. But I also understand it is not for everyone.

This movie was all about the theater experience IMO. I watched 2001 at a buddy's house this past weekend on a huge screen with sound. What a difference that makes.

It made me really wish that they had taken a page from Kubrick's book and prolonged the kaleidoscope scene for 3-5 minutes to truly "force" the audience to have no choice but to see/process whatever "it" was. This would have better conveyed the overarching theme of it just is/does what it wants and you can't escape it.

That's really my only wish for how to make it better. The visuals with the sound were just like the alien itself- no words could adequately explain what it is.

I walked out of it not knowing what the frick I just watched, and I mean that in a good way. I know it’s a metaphor on cancer, but the movie is ballsy and very creative. It’s a movie I highly respect, even if I didn’t find it in the same league as Ex Machina. I look forward to Alex Garland’s continuing career.
