RDJ was the guy outing all the pedos from his "anonymous" blog. He has a TON of pull with Marvel, and would have blocked Gunn if he felt he was one of them. He's not a pedophile, just a guy with a dark, fricked up, and unfunny sense of humor.

I mean the jokes aren’t good and he’s clearly going for shock value....don’t see what firing him for 10 year old tweets really does

1. Gunn is a perverse person, this isn't really shocking.
2. Although he generally has a good sense of humor, those are really odd remarks that are trying way too hard.
3. A few of those probably cross the line enough AND the constant pedo/little boy jokes are at least a little disturbing.
4. Marvel/Disney are just consistent right now, so although this was probably warranted from their perspective, I find it odd that public things came to light now. Maybe this was going to come out in one way or another and it won't really impact things moving forward.
Gunn is for sure the lynchpin for the cosmic side, but the MCU is setup to go in a thousand different directions post IW2. Maybe it won't be so bad, and maybe his tone/control isn't needed?
Knowing corporations, they aren't doing things just to do them. It was probably a safe revenue play for them to make.That sounds terrible, but I don't think Disney does this if it affects the bottom line.

Those aren’t jokes. That’s a grown man making multiple public tweets about pedophila...boys and girls. There’s a big difference between that and comedy. It doesn’t take long to find all kinds of creepy shite on this dude.
With some of the abuses of Hollywood it’s no surprise they fired him....we’re talking about Disney here too...not the optics they’re looking for while they’re pitching parents to see the Mouse or the next Marvel movie.

between Marvel and Whedon? they meddled with Age of Ultron to the point he quit and swore off ever working with Marvel again. unsurprisingly, AoU is also one of the worse marvel flicks.
