re: James Bond Trapped in an Ugly Stalemate Between Amazon and Broccoli Family

Anyone who cares about things British would run from Amazon at light speed and never look back.
The Bond team, including Broccoli, would probably be on board with every gender centric race swap that Amazon wants.
They're the same ones who wanted a female bond with a scene showing her throwing a tampon in a garbage can. Seriously.

Lynch and Waller-Bridge both pushed for extra depth in the Nomi character: that she might have struggled with her weight in the past or be having problems with a boyfriend or be on her period. How much of that makes it into the finished film Lynch isn’t saying. “I thought there might be a scene where she’s coming out of the toilet and you see her throw her tampon in the bin,” she explains. “We don’t need to make a meal out of it! But we’re in the ladies’ room, you’re going to see someone pick their nose or pull out their wedgie. Bottom line: this woman is going to be relatable.”
Who wants to pay good money to see that shite?
I hope Amazon and Broccoli stay in a stalemate forever. Let Bond just die.

Seems to me that they both suck and should turn over Bond to a writer/director who has a sense of humor like James Gunn.
Gunn would turn Bond into Lloyd from Entourage.

I love this. It’s true of just about everyone making big entertainment these days. Unfortunately for them, their algorithm-centered approach doesn’t lead to high quality products (see Rings of Power). They are trying to make art with arithmetic. It doesn’t work. I’m glad to see anyone trying to stand up to them.
Part of me doesn't believe this. There is no way they looked at data that told them audiences would have a positive reception to race swapping the races in Tolkien's lore and girl-bossing Galadriel.
I think they see data and subvert it.

Every family has a Simon Tolkien to trash their own legacy. Especially in the UK. It’s effing tragic.

They couldn't have ruined Wheel of Time more if they tried...unless that is what they did. Change every likeable character and make them miserable. Turn all of the good characters into barely more palatable than the evil characters. Pure trash. If anyone liked it and you feel insulted, well then good. You deserve to be insulted. It was fricking horrible trash.

You mean the woman who has done all she can to emasculate Bond as a character and destroy the James Bond mystique is calling others "idiots"?
This right here.
I despise Barbara Broccoli and what she has done to Bond.
Short of a return to 60s era Bond, as played by Connery, I have little interest in any new Bond film and Broccoli has made it clear she's on the woke train.

Wait for Christopher Nolan to finish his next project. Get him to direct and hire Cavil as Bond. Then swim in the mountain of money you just made like you are Scrooge McDuck.

Give Guy Ritchie a 3 film project with Cavill, remove the woke agenda, & stay out of his way.

It’s ok for Bond to take a breather for a while. Better than the alternative. She’s fighting to keep Bond the same. And not ruined.

and it’s a risky lull in today’s crowded entertainment landscape.
I don’t think a 5-10 year break is risky at all if it’s brought back properly. Just put it in more capable hands. A better Brocolli or none at all is likely the only hope because nobody is going take it out of Amazon’s hands under those circumstances.

It’s crazy that Henry Cavill exists and he hasn’t already been named the next Bond. You couldn’t design a more perfect Bond.

“ These people are f— idiots.”
Doesn’t sound like there’s going to be any happy collaborating any time soon.

No Time to Die, sucked. So if that's her idea of where the franchise needs to go(along with Amazon's tomfoolery) then just stop making them.

That's the MO. Star Wars, Tolkien, Bond, Indiana Jones.
Judging the motivation by the outcome? The objective is to destroy IP

That's how bad Amazon is.

I don't know man. Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare was just OK. Ritchie makes fun trash - basically B-movies, which can be great, but not for James Bond.

So sad, they have a formula that has worked for over 60 years and can’t just follow it. They think they are more important and creative than the original movies and want to make a statement. It is very simple, put a confident, good looking, alpha male as Bond and throw in a couple of beautiful women spread across some made up disaster. Print the money from there.
