You are in the minority, Holland's Spider-Man movies are all good movies and haven't been getting worse. In what way are they worse? What's the reasoning there? Amy Pascal has had tremendous success as a producer, Ghostbusters being the one glaring exception.

I get what you're saying but entertainment is the only reason I watch movies. I'm not a film student trying to learn something, I'm not a sociologist studying pop culture. Is it fun to watch for a couple of hours? I'm good with that. There are "good" things I don't find entertaining and entertaining things that are probably not considered "good" by most people.

I don't even mean from a "science of filmmaking" sense or anything high minded like that. I don't expect (or even want) everything to be Apocalypse Now or something. My bar for "good" is really more about something being more enjoyable or notable than a "throw this on for 2 hours and forget about your day at work for a bit" type movie.

They have gradually been turning into slop from a plot perspective.
We went from a refreshing take on the usual Spider-Man formula that didn't just recycle previous villains and do a 1 to 1 rehash of the origin story with the first one. Vulture is a Peter problem, not an Avengers level threat and that works, especially for the entry to the series..
Now we have universe (or at least global) level threats because we ALWAYS have to up the stakes, ghosts of dead characters stopping the villain with the power of friendship, and supposed genius Peter Parker almost ending the world so his friends could go to college (which was just a bad plot point to bring in the recycled villains.
Admittedly part of what is making these movies worse is the overall MCU dragging them down with it.

Heyman, Pascal, and Villeneuve have really good track records. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Amazon/MGM needs this to be a hit to bring the franchise back to life.

Of course it will be a "really different take".
Bond doesn't work in this era. He's a capable, physically aggressive and intelligent caucasian male with a strong streak of nationalistic pride. The franchise has also always thrived off a sense of humor. None of these things are accepted or thrive in modern big budget cinema. Bond had become a joke when Craig was playing him. This will likely be worse.

I'm hoping what they mean is that, since they've already said they're aging down the character, that we will see his "origin story", so to speak. It could also mean they're changing his race and/or sexuality. There was a rumor a while back that he would be bisexual. I don't think they will go that route, but who knows these days. Hollywood has already shown that they have no qualms with fricking up characters and stories that are beloved by the masses.

I think it’s clear they are just going with a younger, inexperienced, physically imposing Bond and DV is likely taking a different take than previous versions.
