At one point Best Served Cold was being turned into a movie starring Rebecca Ferguson. Not sure what came of that though.

All the suffering to make it is behind the scenes. There is nothing tactile to what is on screen.
At least avator, and i havent seen the sequals, is an attempt to push it to a new level. I am just not interest in the excerise. It is like watching someone else play a video game.

You can really see the fatigue in box office returns from 2 to 3, a drop in a billion dollars. They are repeating themselves
Opening narration about previous events, the Sully’s are happy and playing with animals for an hour, get lit up by an enemy in a surprise attack, live in hiding while Quaritch searches for another hour, they’re found, get lit up again, rally the animals to help them and beat the humans back, Sully beats Quaritch in a 1 on 1 fight that lasts 45 mins, humans retreat, end with a Sully narration talking about living in harmony with Eywe….rinse repeat every time

The stories of Acatar are trash. The execution and technology development was spectacular though.

I've only seen the original Avatar, but is the technology of the later Avatar movies really that impressive by 2020s standards?
I thought the technology of the 2009 Avatar was impressive by 2009 standards, but I fell asleep halfway through the movie anyway because the plot was so boring.
The more recent Avatar movies seem to have an even more boring plot than the first movie, and I'm not sure what's so impressive about the technology anymore.

It was weird at the time, but him coming from obscurity to have like 3/4 major releases in a year was nuts, and then to totally disappear after that was almost equally so.

I enjoyed the amazing 3D in the first one but Dances with a Man Called Horse in the Ferngully had a terrible plot.
Someone really should have said James, you are a wizard but how about we find another name for Unobtanium.
Even though I was completely blown away by the 3D in the first movie, I had zero interest watching another. Just like I have zero interest in Alien at this point.
