On topic I would say that threads is a pretty depressing movie. The last scene doesn't make you feel like rainbows and unicorns that's for sure.

Funny trivia:

The guy who says "arse to arse" is Stanley Herman. His character name is Uncle Hank.

He also appears in "Black Swan" with the character name....... Uncle Hank!

"The Lovely Bones" might be the most depressing movie I've ever seen. I've only watched it once and never will again.

SPOILER

Yeah, I really didn't feel like justice was served in that movie, even though the molester fell off a cliff.

Clint Mansell is one of my favorite artists. I love the Requiem soundtrack and Dead Reckoning from Smokin Aces is one of my favorite songs by him.

Schindlers List is up there.

At least Schindler's arc in and of itself is uplifting, but Requiem is just shite throughout. On the top of my head, I agree it is the most depressing film ever.

Requiem's pretty damn depressing, as is Schindler's List. Another that deserves to be mentioned in this thread is Leaving Las Vegas.

I don't know if I'd call it depressing, but it's basically an hour and a half long panic attack. Especially the mom with the diet pills. Sheesh.

I've not seen it, but from reading this thread, I'm thinking about renting it and just watching certain scenes.

That's like renting Schindler's List because you heard there's a sex scene. The "arse to arse" scene is not titilating at all. It makes you wanna kill yourself.

Sansho The Bailiff is a million times more depressing. Seriously that movie will leave you absolutely devastated and heartbroken.
