Why are you trying to get me in trouble? What did I do wrong?
Yes the factory stock is pretty bad on the Varmint. I don't know why they went so cheap but you can easily upgrade the stock for $200 or so and you still have a good rifle for around $800.
Clint Mansell is one of my favorite artists. I love the Requiem soundtrack and Dead Reckoning from Smokin Aces is one of my favorite songs by him.
The Rem 700 SPS Varmint is pretty good straight out of the box.

You'll end up spending more on optics than the rifle.
I buy a lot of used firearms when I find good deals so I don't always assume new I guess. I see 39As pop up from time to time in the $200-250 range.
I've seen used 39As sell for $200. A new one would be out of his price range though.

I don't know if you'll find a semi-auto that shoots shorts. You might have to look at pump or lever action.

Some semi-autos will shoot .22 short like a Ruger 10/22. The problem is they don't feed. Basically you would have to load a round, fire, load a round, fire and that kills the entire point of semi-auto.

To be a little more clear: .22 short doesn't have enough power to cycle the action on .22 LR semi-autos.
You can also look at Marlin 39A (lever action).

Or you can find a used Winchester 62A (pump action). Rossi also made a model 62A based off the Winchester design.

All those are inexpensive and shoot .22 LR, long, and short.

All of that sounds right up my alley except the kayak part.
You guys have loose women on this site? This is way better than the other outdoor forums I post on.

I've been working 14 hour days the past couple of weeks so today I think I'm going to leave around 4 and go home and relax.

Tomorrow I have some projects I need to work on.

Sunday I might drink a beer or two and get rid of some of this surplus ammo I have laying around.
Beautiful gun. 416 Weatherby. Do you go rhinoceros hunting often?
The only thing you have to be careful of with the RRA LARs is compatibility issues. One of the best things about the AR platform is the interchangeability between manufacturer parts. The LARs are a unique design so if you decide to upgrade your barrel or bolt group parts later on you have to be careful.

See that little NOTE at the bottom of your advertisement?
Nice rifle. What is it chambered in? I think the Ps come in .223, .308, and .300 Win Mag?

Did your dad do the paint or was that a police job? I'm thinking about doing some custom paint on mine but there are so many different options.

For the qualities you have listed I would recommend a Vizsla. But you have to give them exercise and attention or they will drive you crazy.
Look at DPMS or CMMG AR-10s. They are reliable but cost a lot less than the other brand names. You could probably build a DPMS/CMMG AR-10 for around $700-800.
faxis, is that a 700 Tactical?

What are the specs and equipment add-ons? Looks like a Nikon scope and Butler Creek caps. Nice paint.
It is good to around 400 yards easily but you are correct. This is a scope that I have that I can mount on the rifle for now until I save up for the big dog. I want to extend my range beyond 800 yards so I will end up spending a couple grand on optics.

This is an on-going process. I can't afford to drop $4000 or more all at once.
