I just don’t care anymore and cannot get excited for them. It’s like loving Outback Steakhouse then eating at Outback Steakhouse every week for a decade. I’ve had enough bloomin onions and cheese fries.

I watched all the comic book movies for years and loved most of them. But I never saw Spider-Man Homecoming and Spider-Man is my all time favorite. I still have about a hundred Amazing Spider-Man comics from the 80s. I never saw Infinity War. End Game is coming and I feel nothing.

I’ve reached my over saturation point I guess. But these movies still make major $ so I must be in a small group. Won’t be the first time.

Not me. I love that we get great comic book movies now.

I watch plenty of non-comic content on a regular basis as well so that really keeps me from getting burned out.

I somewhat have, but was never super into them anyway. But the general public certainly isn't, as they make bajillions of dollars consistently. Even the "shitty" ones.

Not really, as long as it's good.

Marvel has done a great job, and I'm always excited for their movies.

DC has fricking flopped since Nolan left and I hate every single one of their movies.

That's a bad comparison.

Marvel films typically: Satisfy Fans, Satisfy Critics, Make money

Outback satisfies some subset of fans with poor taste.

You could have never watched films in the 1930-50s. Nearly 1 in 3 films was a western.

It's weird that people get tired over 3-4 films per year. I watch triple that number in new horror films every year.

Marvel probably should take a short break after Endgame but they aren't wasting time with Spider Man and I guess with Captain Marvel and Black Panther it's better to keep it going otherwise you are going to lose the cast.

It's because comic book movies get all the attention right now. They're insanely popular. I though they'd start dying off by now, but they just keep going.

I got burned out, stopped watching them and complained every time one came out about how there's too many comic book movies. Nobody in Hollywood listened.

So now i'm back to watching them.

Sure, but it's still only 3-4 films per year, in the grand scheme of things, that isn't that much most genres release more films than that. More historical biographies/narratives. More romantic comedies. More horror films. Etc.

If they we're not connected and all had their own universe I probably would. But what the MCU doing is something that has never been done before and we're finally about to end what has been an 11 year journey

I had gotten burned out on them for a couple of years, but Thor: Ragnarok was really the one that re-hooked me.

Well obviously somebody is going to be but the answer for the majority is no. Just look at how much money those movies pull in. Honestly when I think about something that has defined this decade, one of those things is comic book movies.

Do each of them have 3-4 films in the franchise? And do all those films come together and make 3-4 more films with them all in it?

One thing for me was I was burned out on the characters themselves.

There might be just as many rom-coms each year but I haven't seen Steve Carell play his character Andy from 40 Year Old Virgin eleven times. I would get sick of that pretty quick to if I saw his character that much.

Or I dont see them remaking every historical biography 5-10 years later because it was supposed to be good but it wasnt so lets try again.

I know you werent replying to me but I think you're missing the point of why some people get tired of them.

Are there really as many of these that hit the big screen and are promoted as big movies? I honestly don't know, but I don't feel like I these as much as I used to. I am also admittedly not watching much where I would see new movie trailers

So then, it isn't about comic book films, but the MCU in particular? Then that's 2-3 films per year. And the next response would be, ok, but why bother? That's still 2 of hundreds of films released it's easy to not pay attention to them.

I mean, don't watch them? How can you be tired of something you aren't paying attention to?

Sure, that's fair.

Maybe, but there are dozens of actors, particularly in comedies, that play the same role in every film. Melissa McCarthy, Vince Vaughn, etc. The particular genre has about 3-4 stories of things like "Overly uptight/square/nerdy guy has chance with free loving/wild spirit woman, involves douchebag competitor for her heart and wacky sidekick."

As someone who enjoys them, I still miss many of them in theaters because I am busy watching other things in the theater because there are so many things to watch. We've seen a huge resurgence of great sci-fi films (honestly which I think i driven by the nerdiness of things like comic book films), and horror films. For some reason westerns are back again (woohoo!). There is so much to watch right now, I honestly don't get it.

It's like GoT for me. Not my jam, don't watch it. Not really tired of it because I don't pay attention to it (The only problem is it taking over the board, otherwise, meh). It's easy to not care, or it should be.
