Almost no response to anything really. Almost no one stayed for the post-credits scene
Perhaps they were on their 2nd viewing as well

interweaving a decade of movies and like 20 characters into a coherent plot was unimagineable even up until they really started making this movie. there was always that undercurrent of thought that it was simply impossible to do this
This is what I couldn’t stop thinking about after the movie got rolling.
I mean, it isn’t just that the movie is good, which it is. Very.
But the whole planning out of the “Universe” for a decade and almost 20 movies with dozens of characters. It all came together brilliantly in this, but each of the 20 movies are also very good in their own rights as stand alones, some excellent.
And after decades of seeing these dozens of characters that we’ve gotten to know so well in multiple movies and settings spanning the entire universe, it doesn’t feel like a single one gets shorted in this movie. They all establish their contributions and all play pivotal roles in their own way.
BP probably has the least screen time and dialogue, which isn’t surprising seeing as how his stand alone was so recent so this almost feels like an immediate continuation for him. But he is critical as he provides the setting and protection for the climactic battle.
It really is the type of big picture and out of the box thinking that we don’t see enough of in Hollywood and I’m honestly happy they are being rewarded so handsomely at the box office. It will go down as a historic plunder for the people that dared to do this, so hopefully it will encourage and incentivize others to think big and take on massive projects in the future.
For all the talk of “comic book fatigue”, the fact that this was all one massive project being revealed in stages should hopefully exclude these from that. If anything it’s gotten me reinvested and wanting to go back and watch them all again.
Very happy to see this all come together so well and can’t wait for the next chapters

The CGI of Banner in his final scene is shockingly bad.
I actually noticed that on first view. Definitely jarring. It’s like they forgot to touch it up.
They’re all standing in a row in what should be this epic shot and you see Ruffalo just cut and pasted in the Hulk suit like it’s on a third graders art project

If Strange would have tried to use a portal then Thanos would probably just use the Reality Stone to turn it into a big hoola hoop. He turned flames into bats, Quill’s gun into shooting bubbles, etc. a portal wasn’t going to stop him once he got the Reality Stone
shite, Strange tried to shoot the Mirror Dimension at him and he just punched through it

True, but I’m assuming he will play a role in the conclusion? And didn’t he retire after Civil War? So at least there is somewhat of an explanation.
And honestly WTF was he going to do in this scenario? He was always kind of a throwaway imo. At least ScarJo has her Hulk influence to give her a purpose.

Caught it for the second time.
Better than the first time.
Vision/Scarlet Witch at the end was gutting. Bethany and Olsen did a very good job with that scene.
It will never happen (otherwise, Andy Serkis would have one from LOTR), but Brolin' s Thanos is Oscar worthy.

The CGI for him was so good. Aside from his muscles and body proportions, I’d have no problem believing that he was in makeup. I’d just think he was digitally enhanced unless someone told me otherwise.

Best responses are always opening night.
And the more I watch this, the more I get disgusted by every element of Ruffalo in this film.
Everything else is fitting together perfectly.... except him.

So did anyone else notice that Thanos had a classic hero arc?
They showcase him displaying amazing physical abilities. They establish his backstory and motives. They have him suffer great personal loss. He has to overcome multiple adversaries and great odds. They even tease him losing before pulling out the last second win. Then he rides off into the sun set after he "saved the day".
The Russos really framed this movie as if Thanos was the hero in his own twisted way.

I love the motive change from the comics honestly... it gives the writers and directors a chance to make him much more dynamic and they delivered bigly
I’ve been describing him more as a cult leader. Trying to save the universe and do right just in his own fricked up way

Ok, you put it parallel to where his heart is. What’s Thanos going to do? He can’t do shite.
Who is to say that Portal chopping move would work on someone of Thanos powers? Say they do do the portal thing and instead of cutting him it breaks apart against his skin?
Something like that is a beginners spell as was taught in Dr. Strange. The big beast dude that got his arm cut off was a scrub fighter, HUlk could have kicked his but easily.

I would like to thank the movie board for making me right and for trying to help my family. It was no use though. My boy insisted he’d be ok. Wife agreed despite me telling her this sounded like Private Ryan with superheroes dying. Lol
My son made it about 7 minutes.
